AAA Currency Exchange -- ohiovalley.aaa...

When traveling internationally it is very important that you bring along the correct currency. When in doubt about what type of currency you will need, I recommend consulting your local AAA. The process of converting your money to another form of currency is actually a lot simpler and easier than you might think. What do you think?

I think this may be a much better option than going to the country first, I wanna arrive there with the currency in hand lol

Thankyou so very much for this. I am about to travel out the country for the first time as a teenager and I had no clue you have to pre order it. I was thinking there’s probably some sort of ATM machine that you can put money in and get foreign money back in different countries 😂

Amazed at what a process the make it to exchange currency in the US everywhere else I’ve been you can walk to a place or bank and do it on the spot

I'm not sure where you live but it's not really that surprising considering the US only borders two countries by land

My local AAA doesn’t exchange to foreign currency & never has. The clerk said it varies around the country, but larger banks might , like Chase.

Is there a way to put money on a card? Like an international debit card
@NReluctant
@NReluctant 4 года назад
Yes it is the TravelEX money card. You can go to any AAA store and get one or do it online with TravelEX.

Good info. Thing is about travelx, there's no option for USA in the location drop down.

Currently, Triple A no longer does this as they cited the pandemic as the cause.

I recently did it at my local bank, make sure to check yours as most all banks do it.

Was the rate good? Or did they rob u on the rate?? I was surprised. I exchanged USD for euros in Athens Greece at the airport. The rate was really good. Like $1.25 for one euro. They only charged a $7.95 fee so for $600 I got almost 500 euros.
@NReluctant
@NReluctant 6 лет назад
See John Vlog the rate was good but not great, you honestly got a good deal. I exchanged $315 USD and got $275 for a short trip to France. Guess it depends on the current rate, plus they added their $12 fee into the cost.
@JohnnieV

NReluctant really. I was on their website yesterday and AAA says they don’t charge a fee. Just the rate is where they make money.
@NReluctant

See John Vlog they ordered it from the same place you can get it online and it was like a $12 processing fee or something even with my AAA membership. I hear that local banks will do it for free though.

Appears for $3000 usd to euro - everyone is charging around 500$ for ... wtf
@NReluctant
@NReluctant Год назад
Try your local bank. It should be around $15ish plus the conversion rate whatever it is. Shouldn’t be anywhere near $500 in fees 😅
@negusdawoo
@negusdawoo Год назад
@@NReluctant you must have a time machine ... all banks plus online are charging ~$500 to convert $3000 to Euro ... BOA, CITI, Chase, CEIX
@negusdawoo
@negusdawoo Год назад
@NReluctant chase rate was 1.1506 and citi was 1.1658
@NReluctant
@NReluctant Год назад
@@negusdawoo oh you mean on what you lose transferring? To be safe I usually estimate losing around $0.25 on every dollar. I’ve never exchanged $3,000 before so that may be correct. Another option is to get less euros and put other purchases on a credit card with no foreign transaction fees when you get there. Just let your credit card know the dates of travel.
@negusdawoo
@negusdawoo Год назад
@@NReluctant true; however that doesn't work in cuba. And getting less doesn't decrease the rate - so it's still relative i.e. $1k = (fee of ~$500/3)
