Finally solved it for me, thanks so much! (Have to say, un-checking the 'Apply Modifiers' value to render an export with destructive modifications is very counterintuitive to a noob.)

Say, I want to make an ocean plane in blender that has a looping animation for Unity. I have an ocean modifier on the plane, and the animation loops through the timeline of the ocean modifier. If I apply the modifier in Blender, it makes it a solid object that has no wave animation anymore.

Love your videos. In your example it is not possible to walk thow the wall/door. Do I have to make collesion on all object or do it import from blender and then how to make it better?

my boolean cut outs stopped exporting randomly. tried to cut out for a frame and applied boolean then deleted the cube i used but the hole is still missing.

You could have selected the wall and toggled on "selection only" on export + apply modifiers on export to avoid applying modifiers in the file.

Well you could I guess - really depends on how complex your model is at that point - for this example I think it would work perfectly :)

I tried to add text to the surface of an object using the shrinkwrap modifier. but when I try and apply the modifier, it says "Cannot apply modifier for this object type" Could someone help me with this?

Hey, so im doing this to export to a i3d file using the blender i3d exporter, but even after applying the modifier it will give me a failure to export, only with any time i use and apple any boolean stuff

even exporting with the object used to boolean then deleting in secondary program it doesnt create the hole.

Personal note that may help someone: When exporting using glTF 2.0 w/ mods & glow, in data>mesh dropdown, apply mods & attributes.

I'm trying to export my mesh with the Solidify modifier to create an "outline" effect. When I go to export it and import it into a new file, the outline material just makes the mesh white and I have to reconfigure it. Help?

Well I'm not sure what you're animating, but you'd probably have to switch it to some kind of a keyframed modifier applied model, as the modifiers are not going to transfer to Unity

I am trying to achieve a paper rolling effect in three.js. So my plan was to do it in blender like in here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ngRDinoqQZo.html, but when exporting as gltf I dont have the animation :(. If I export it by applying the modifier I won't have the animation. Do you if there is someway to achieve the animation in three.js?

that is just really stupid from Blender. I want to export an animation how I see it in Blender. Blender team is really incompetent, especially in exporting stuff to Unity

Not really - modifiers are intended to work live inside of Blender - it makes sense you'd have to apply them to export to a program that doesn't use modifiers

@@TheCGEssentials Sry I made no introduction: Concrete example: I have made an animation with keyframing the simple deform modifier. This Modifier changes the position of the vertices. Nothing more, nothing less. It then gets interpolated with some function between the key frames I set. So exporting this should not be a problem (just export the keyframes), but I found no way to do this, but about 10 questions on forums where people ask a very similar thing. No answer That has nothing to do with modifiers living in Blender, but just literally copying the position of the vertices at each frame to fbx.
