YES!! I knew there had to be a better way than tying the knot and then sewing up, down, and all around to "securely" extend the thread and then hide the knot within this zigzag of sewing!! UGGHHH!! Mahalo & Aloha Nui Loa!!!

I have been using this technique for years. It has NEVER failed. My suggestion, as to the knot, use a square knot. It slips out more easily.

Love this technique. Although I get afraid sometimes that the "blobs" will turn out a little too big and won't fit thru 15/0s or little too small and will slip thru when I pull the 2 threads to form the knot. It can be a little tricky, but it's a seamless way to extend the thread

Yes, you just have be very careful not to leave the heat close too long, if they are too large, cut them off and try again.

I have been using this technique for 2 years & have never had any issues. A time or 2 I did end up with a knot that was just a tad to big fof the 15/0s that I was using. I used my pliers to gently mash the knot all th way around the knot & it worked. I tested first by pulling my thread tightly to make sure it wouldn't break apart at the knot & it didn't. Hope this helps to make u feel better about trying this technique as it is a time saver & a thread saver

@@elizabethjones3325 Thank you for the tip! Will try it! It was an 8 lb fireline knot and a miyuki 15/0 🤪 The struggle was real lol .
