I don't seem to have had as much luck as everyone else - it didnt appear as a new drive and I get a warning saying "disk image not initialized, contains partitions that arent recognisable or volumes that havent been assigned drive letters". Thank you for the video.
Thanks for the great tutorial. It is similar to others I've found. But in my case, when the new drive is created (where I don't know) it requires to be formatted. When I acknowledge and proceed I am halted by a message stating the drive is write protected. Anyone have any suggestions? Also note: the File System is stated as RAW not NTFS and has 100% free space.
Mounting my VHD files in disk management did not result in the drives showing up in my computer in Windows 10 :/ I have videos and pictures on a backup drive that I can't get out, and Windows Backup just restores empty folders and some config files.
I just had to right click on the drive in Disk Management and select "Change Drive Letter and Paths" and add it as a new drive letter, then it showed up :)
i have 3 VHD files cos my laptop has an ssd and a hdd. im unable to put on the system image because i replaced a corrupt hdd and so i just want to extract my files and reinstall my programs. can i use all 3 vhd files, cos i dont know which is which :/
