Fakies are one of my favorite tricks to mess around with on my MTB! The help a ton with overall bike control, you can do them anywhere, and they're sure to turn a few heads at the trailhead. Follow along as I brake the trick down into three parts and offer tips for people struggling with each part.

Arguably one of the most difficult skatepark skills

Excellent tutorial! I am inconsistent with being able to do the revert. Yours is the first tutorial that specifically talks about how to do this. Thanks!

Glad it was helpful! Yeah it’s definitely a tricky part, and I personally don’t think 180s count unless you get the revert haha

Man, you make it look so easy. Thanks, your a great teacher. Just sold my xl middlechild frame. It fit good, but I’m really a large at 6’ even. It was twitchy at speed, too long, maybe hard for me to put enough weight on the front. I’m going to practice this on my Santa Cruz chameleon. You have revolutionized that middlechild and probably mountain biking in general. It’s a trail bike, a park jumper, a bmx bike! Keep um coming

Thank you Michael! Ya I'm 6' as well and I prefer a large for my style of riding. I've never ridden a Chameleon, but from what I've seen their similar to the Middlechild in that they are both designed to excel in tons of different disciples; XC rides, enduro races, and jibby skatepark stuff! Let me know if you have any questions as you're working on those fakies!

@@ridingwithjoshandwendy yep…got mine back in late June. Loving it so far! I can ride it as hard as my Yeti SB5.5 on the downhills and still adjusting on the techy uphill climbs. You mentioned the same in another one of your videos. I’ve stuck with the stock 27.5 2.8’s, but kicking around trying it as a mullet too. Not sure if you’ve tried that? Just stumbled across your channel and am anxious to check out your other videos! Cheers!

Right on! Ya I’m running 27.5x2.4 and really want try running it as a mullet! My wife Wendy rides a 29er so I’ve thought about swapping her fork/wheel over for a bit. I’ll definitely make a video of it if I do!

It’s a lot easier if you stoppie/foot jam on a small hill and then go backwards. For me I kinda flick the bike and give a small pedal to get my trail bike around on a bmx or dj just the flick works
@ridingwithjoshandwendy
@ridingwithjoshandwendy Год назад
Right on man! Ya definitely takes a bit more technique and muscle on the trail bike, but that’s part of what makes them more fun!

Hi, helpful video. I've been struggling with reverts on my dirt jumper. I find the pedal method really difficult as it's a single speed and a tough gear. I trained myself out of using the rear brake as I thought that was considered cheating!
@ridingwithjoshandwendy
@ridingwithjoshandwendy Год назад
Glad it was helpful! Ya, some people call pedal pressure cheating too, and say it only counts if you halfcab haha, but I’m not that hardcore
@rsdan1984
@rsdan1984 Год назад
@@ridingwithjoshandwendy I guess the half cab might be easier on a smaller BMX bike

Haha ya, just about everything is. Make sure you’re leading with your head and shoulders on the revert, that makes a pretty big difference for me!
