I got a backyard garden with natural trees and as a graphic designer I want secure other avenue for earning extra income to support my family and business at home and also grow some food. I believe farming is a natural gift from God to everyone regardless your profession. I have just began my backyard garden at home and feel very good to interact more with nature. Thank you for good content always. I see plaintain plants very close to the snailery, with their leaves touching the roof.... is this not a risk considering that ants and other crawlies can crawl into the snailery from there?

OK. So it rained last evening, so I went round and found 14 little snails. I put them in a damaged bucket with soil and leaves. I gave them a mango skin which they are still eating as at 6.30am today. I will put them in my store for shade. Later I will build them a proper pen. This is a small way to start, is it not?

Would it not be more practical to build the hutches out of mud? After all, good Adobe houses stay warm in cold weather, and cool in hot weather. I am thinking of the cost-savings possible at the start-up stage.

Hello Kester...my name is Angel from the Philippines, i am interested in starting a snail farming in the Philippines, since as far I am concern, there is no snail farming yet here in our country unlike in Thailand...there so many snails and many variety of snail in our country but we consider it as pest...i didnt know that its a good business until I watch you youtube...if I start a snail business here..do you think there is a market (demand) for the slime of the snail?..i hope you can reply..thanks

Do you have a patient spirit to venture into this? 2 years to keep and care for snails. It is not 4 or 3 months money breakthrough business. Raising baby snails from start to finish. Let them tell you the real truth about rearing snails, don't only focus on their achievements.

No need to use aluminum or zinc roofing sheet. It will increase rate of evaporation. To avoid that you will need to have a higher headroom for the roof, and that means extra cost for the pen construction,

Just plant a lot of coco-yam , pawpaw, cucumber, okra, green pepper for them in the wet season. The rest formulate your supplementary feed if you can.
