Guys, her nails are healthy. They're just stained from being painted so often, they aren't dirty or gross, she actually has healthy looking nails. Stop complaining and watch what she's actually trying to show you or don't watch. Nail bleaching is a HORRIBLE thing to do to your nails, and will damage the hell out of them. Besides, who cares if they're yellow if she has them painted most of the time anyway? They are healthy, just stained, now stop. I enjoy her videos and I enjoy the designs and glitter and everything she does, the fact that her nails are stained doesn't bother me and it shouldn't bother you either. Just let her do her thing and stop being mean. Okay? Okay. :)
i actually like her yellow nails i mean if she would bleech them that would be kinda....weird. I mean i am really use to her beautiful yellow nails so..NOO BLEACHING
I find it kind of funny how she says that you're not supposed to file ur nails back and forth like a seesaw, and I trust what she says, yet every single nail salon I've been to files my nails back and forth...
jamie loves kookie When you're using a VERY *fine* nail file (usually glass/crystal) it doesn't matter and it won't create cracks or split the nail plate.
I got my nails painted once IT WAS AWFUL!!!!!! They filed my nails back and forth (afterwards they were all split😟) They also buffed my nails with a drill WHICH HURT and afterwards they felt like sand paper.
Jennifer McFarlane Nail technicians usually don't use drills directly on a natural nail plate (rarely if it's very fine), hand files are go-to. Don't go back there, ofc but, please, don't let this make you lose your faith in nail salons. Ask friends before choosing one for your next appointment or binge watch nce videos on here and take the matter into your own hands.

I work at a hair salon... Same. If your hands are in water all the time, I think it's pretty difficult to have long healthy nails - the stylists I know with long nails tend to have fakes. I don't really want long nails (I know I'm going to break them on impatiently removing a label anyway), but I would like my nail beds to look healthier, so I'm buying the jojoba oil & vitamin E she suggested anyway.
Watching these videos have helped with my nail growth and I've started a nail polish collection. I'm not about to go crazy but I've been taking better care for my nails which I'm proud of.

Actually, the length of my nail bed did change when I stopped biting my nails. So If you are also a nail biter and worry that you have ruined your nails forever, you didn't and it does get better once you stop biting them. However it does take 6 months to 1 year to see a significant difference. What made me stop (mostly, they still suffer every now and then) was wearing nail polish regularly. And at first, especially because my nails were so short, it looked bad and I didn't want to wear any nail polish but I stuck to natural shades that didn't catch my eye and little by little I started wearing more vibrant colors and even HOLO :)
yup, keep going! i used to bite mine till like 11 or 12 and i stopped bc i got interested in nail polish. instead of biting, i used to eat the polish off the nails lol. Now i'm 19 and they are longer and more beautiful than ever, i never would have thought i could have strong nails, i thought they'll be paper thin forever, even though they are not Christine-strong yet and maybe never will be lol.
I ordered like a $10 glass file from Amazon and I'M IN LOVE WITH IT! It files so nicely and the edges are smooth. I got my family hooked on them. I feel like everyone needs one of these in their household. Please invest in one.
i really want to grow my nails long but i have this habit of ripping them off like if my nail is broken on the side ill rip it and every time my nail grows long i rip it :( i need to stop it
Try to get a polish ,you can get special ones, that tastes really bad! You will be put off by the taste and will try to break the habit! Hope this helps!
I meticulously use my other nails to get any dirt out from underneath them (probably not the best method but that's what I do) you can also use a brush or a wooden tool like an orange stick or toothpick or even a plastic nail brush. However, actually dirty nails are probably only an issue for people who work with messy things like soil, paint etc. So for regular life if you don't do messy things with your hands it shouldn't be hard to keep your nails clean.
Whenever I file my nails, I have to put ear buds in or something because the sounds of the file scraping against my nails make me cringe. It's like nails on a chalkboard kind of thing.
I was too but my grandma said that when this happen you should smile while showing your teeth and put pressure to your teeth to stop the cringe feeling but you should do this while filing your nails and just endure the cringe feeling. Hope it help

Once again, found this super helpful because I would buffer my nails and have a base nail polish that is also a strengthener aaaaand my right thumb nail broke off at the fleshy part :( now I'm on this journey on short nails and wanting to grow them out long again, so I can have my pretty almond shaped nails again
I know i am 2 yrs late to the party but so am i to the glass nail file. My life i have no idea how i lived without one, best invention EVER! Shortens my nails faster and doesn't snag. Only downside for me is probebly the cheap ones i get (like 79 pence, i'm from the UK) and i notice how easily worn down they get.
I just bought that same nail file. I followed your advice and at first I was using too light of a touch, which resulted in that nails-on-a-chalkboard feeling and cringe effect. I quickly learned you need to put a bit of pressure behind it to avoid that...and I have to say I love the file! So much better than a regular cheapo emery board from the drugstore. Thanks for the tips!

What you said about the hairline splits is sooo true. I can’t even allow my thumb nail to grow (it grows quite long naturally) because at some point some way somehow, it cuts into the part right beneath the white of my nail. And that means eternal pain. Or at least that’s how it feels until it manages to heal.
I go to cosmetology school and yellow tint comes from having nail polish on your nails for a prolonged period of time , also from changing your nail polish color frequently and using acetone based remover .
I found the article that you posted was very helpful and cleared up a lot of questions I had about acetone and the nail strengthener. Yes I found this video just recently and I saw that it was from 3 years ago. I just started doing gel polish at home and was unsure about how safe soaking my nails in acetone really was. I feel better now since I've read that. I'm also trying to make my nails stronger and I've been using cuticle oil daily. My job is very harsh on my hands so I have to keep it up.
I am very happy about how my natural nails are :) I don't have a huge c-curve, but it's not flat. My cuticles are very short and easy to remove. My nail bed is a very nice shape, like an almond filed nail, and they grow out in a way that makes it look like I always have a salon manicure when my nails are longer. Sadly, MY FRIEND BROKE MY NAIL TODAY!

I'm 47 and have been doing my nails for years. Every single thing she says 100% TRUE. -Water is your nails' enemy. Do not do anything until they are no longer saturated with it. -Jojoba is their best bud; let them hang out together often -ALWAYS keep a file on you. A nick becomes a break faster than you think. I just found her vids and I'm hooked. This woman knows her shh.

I had that problem too. Now my nails are long, I think even as long as Cristine's, and they barely get any dirt under them. Maybe dirt just falls out idk ┐(￣ヮ￣)┌
Holo, Cristine! I just wanted to inform you that buffing your nails are completely fine! It does not damage your nails if done properly. In fact, I personally find my nails are much stronger after I buff them. The reason for this is because buffing smooths out all of the little scrapes and chipped layers that occurs on the nail bed and tips. Most people do this strictly for vanity purposes, but buffing can be benifical. From one Canadian nail geek to another, think of a zambony (I'm sorry, I can't fucking spell that because I never had to before) smoothing over ice in a hockey arena. So satisfying. It also makes nail polish application a bit smoother. It's also a bonus for days you're not wearing any polish because it makes the nails look well maintained. Too much buffing most definitely can be a bad thing. It's typically recommended to buff your nails once a week maximum. I personally only do mine once every two weeks. However what works for me might not work for you :P
I rarely ever do anything with my nails. I never have. But, I just started watching your videos a few days ago, and I actually painted my nails for the first time in a year. It doesn't look very good, but it was great for my standards. I really want to do more with my nails now.
In grade 6, something happened (I really have no clue) to my nail and it slowly peeled off day by day until I got fed up and ripped it off. Now it grows crooked. So my nail bed did change it's shape.
I mean it doesn’t point to them being unhealthier but I fail to see how it would make them look healthier...? Even if the nail is still strong yellow is often from unnatural cause, and staining from strong polishes doesn’t strike me as particularly beneficial, although not detrimental in any way 🤷♀️
