Hugo! This was a perfect video. I've been looking for a way to fill gaps between floor planks and I agree that wood filler is time consuming and expensive! I knew there had to be another way. You mastered it. Thank you!

Perfect! I've been trying to find the right filler there are many videos that talk about a product that isn't available in the United States. Thank you! 🎉🎉🎉

I don’t ever leave negative comments on other people’s videos but I don’t want what happened to me to happen to anyone else. I followed this 3 part floor sanding video series to THE T….used the exact same products he did, had my floors looking so good after the 4 passes with the drum (36, 60, 80, 100) it was time to do this step shown in this video (part 2) did exactly what he said to do and it completely destroyed my floor. It was all discolored and muddled. I took a breath and said to myself that the buffer with the 120 screen will blend it all out and it’ll look good again….that didn’t happen. It made it worse. I had to start from the beginning and well…there are no words to express how upset and bummed out I was. Anyway, hopefully it works for others but following this how-to turned out to be a nightmare for me.

I hate carpet. It gets dirty and smelly really quick and its expensive to replace. I have always liked the sound of walking on a creaky wood floor. It's a good imbedded security system too

How large of gaps can this fill? I have divots that are 1/8” -1/4” deep and several inches wide. I realize they will be visible when filled but I plan on using a very dark stain. I just want them to hold up. Will be using area carpets to hide. Any suggestions??

Will the filler take stain? Or do you have fine sand it again?

If a buffer isn’t available, can a sander with 110 -120 paper be used

When you are staining your floor, at what point do you add the stain? In other words, after you use the fill coat with the sealer, can you then stain it a darker color before adding the polyurethane? My concern is that the sealer will not let the stain penintrate.

You would use the filler, then sand the floor with a 100 or 120 grit, THEN stain and seal the floor again.

Same thing I’m going through right now. Just sealed using this technique. I need to use the sanders again.

Why is this wrong?
@simpletonballsack
@simpletonballsack Год назад
@@wyattmorris4755 The horrible lumpy mixture at 4:08 leads to the terrible result shown at 7:10. The final result at 12:07 is the worst finish I've ever seen on a hardwood floor and the mistake of trying to gap fill the whole floor has failed. The floor actually looks nice where there is no light shining off it to highlight how terrible it is. High gloss finish highlights every tiny imperfection so the floor should have been made smooth for a gloss finish or, preferably, coated in a matt or low sheen finish.

@@simpletonballsack the correct way? Step by step. I have similar floors with this exact issue.

@@wyattmorris4755 The correct way would be to actually sand it flat and avoid the four errors I pointed out above.
