Thank you for the informative video. Straight forward, cutting out the guesswork! Much appreciated! I do have one question, please forgive me if you have already covered this previously. The single keyword are they separated with commas or do you add them w/o commas?
Wow, I never realized how wrong I was doing it the way I was doing it. I practically had all the same keywords in all 7 boxes. Why I never watched this video before I will never know but once again you have done a fantastic job and definitely saved me from a lot of stress and heartache! THANK YOU!
Amazing guidance. Obviously steeped in experience and easy to follow even for amateurs like me. Organized. I really appreciate your friendly delivery and the singularly on-point value you're providing in all the content on your channel. Sincere thanks.
Thank you so much for this very informative video 😊 finally someone who gives straight advice on keywords instead of the runaround “tips” other kdp people give that just leave you hanging not really knowing anymore than before watching their videos... 👍🏻
Thank you very much, Paul. The process is very straightforward for non-fiction books or manuals, where you choose keywords for title and subtitle. For fiction books it seems more vague. The title doesn't illuminate the content (think Salinger's Catcher In The Rye) unless you're being didactic (and probably ridiculous). And using a subtitle to "explain" the title risks trivializing. About backend keywords you risk falling into the generality of niche labels (e.g. 'humorous novel' or 'slapstick comedy'), unless you use something related to the characters or situations in the plot (e.g. 'bumbling inspector' or 'nymphomaniac wife'). But when you search for fiction on Amazon you don't normally use those details, you use macrocategories. So if you're not an author with thousands of reviews, ranking up only with keywords for the fiction genre I think is very complicated. Don't you think?
Agree 100%. This video was designed for publishers of low content books. With fiction building an audience is crucial to get those sales and reviews and, in turn, climb the rankings.
Hey thanks mate 👍 I've liked and subbed... 🤓 It's amazing how in most online projects, understanding how to use keywords efficiently is the difference between doing well and doing not so well 😀 I'm still practicing but I reckon it's a new skill worth learning. Thanks for the quality content 🤜🤛
Exactly. In all the online businesses I’ve run, keywords and understanding them have made the difference between success and failure. A very valuable skill 👍👍
Hey Paul, Thanks a lot for such an informative and useful video!!! Things which you show here I have not seen anywhere else. Go on, you're good at it. Have a nice day and God bless you!
Thank you Paul Marles, I followed your video step by step and I published my very first notebook on March 31, and it is now on Amazon today. Yaaayy!!! God bless you.
wow i am so impressed.normaly i put whole phrases in 7 slots. i have to try your technic. just one question.you fill up all these 7 slots till the end so they re fully packed and try to find so many relatives keywords as you can? or just you use few of them?hank you very much for that video
Thanks, Paul for these videos. I see how, if you have researched the title and subtitle, this method of using single keywords and related terms in the seven keyword boxes would be best. Unfortunately, in my case, I published the book without any prior marketing research and so my title and subtitle aren't optimised. Others recommend using long-tail keyword phrases in each of the seven boxes and, in my case, I think that would be best. Either that or I might need to republish since the book's going nowhere.
Hi Paul, as I understand it is ideal to go under 2k competition for title and subtitle niches/keywords. do you apply the same rule in 7 boxes backend keywords or as long as the keyword is relevant doesn't matter if high or low keywords competition? sorry I'm still unclear with keywords ranking from Amazon. Thanks Paul.
Hi Paul what do you think if vi put in the keywords box . Like this First one. Planner.notebook.journal paperback. Kdp this is only the first box and in the second one . Some things like this... Women men girls kids mom toddler extra ....
So greatful for your channel. I know it takes hours to learn the information you know but to share that with us in a condensed way is just amazing. Thank you, recently published 2 low content books after watching you
Thank you .. your language is so clear and you cover a lot of things .. I just have 2 questions.. 1. Is the keywords must be started in a capital latter or small or there is no difference? 2. If my nich for example about sister and on my design there are hearts and I but hearts one of my keywords is this ok or this is unrelated word because its not related to my nich .. and if I but the color of my notebook cover as keywords is that ok ? .. Thank you 😊
Very informative as always, I know that amazon makes combination of the keywords, but I think It's not logical to just add a single word out of the targeted main keywords, let me tell you why, amazon in any way would make those combinations whether from a single word or even from a phrase word, so why to waste those bullets on single words while I could use similar relevant keywords which people already searches for and leads them to the same targeted book I know they would need cause you know people don't think nor search in the same way! in the example you mentioned we could use" thank you teacher gifts , student teacher gifts ,...etc" that way we have two benefits, we have the word gift as well as the complete phrase that - according to a keyword inspector - have good search volume! I might be totally wrong, I love to hear your opinion, what do you think, thanks in advance! :)
Thank you Paul for this video! i put in my number and diffrent words from my titel and subtitel but my book is not showing in the search, how can that be? any ide? It is published :-). thank you
I was of the understanding that you could only fill out your title with words actually on the cover or spine. You have said as much in other videos and KDP says as much in their rules. So it is allowed to put keywords in the title?
If a competitor uses highly keywords and they are already famous, surely they will be far in front of the 'attention queue' compared to an unknown author, and thus far more likely to score on that keyword?
One of the best I have seen on the 7 boxes ! - Captain would you say that it is unecessary to add ANY word that is in the title and subtitle withing the 7 slots - even if it is a long tail keyword phrase that includes a word in the title?
Also Captain you have repeated the word appreciation in title and subtitle - is this necessary or have you done so to male literal sense witht he sentance in the sub title?
Mr Paul, please sir, I designed front cover for sketch book on canvas of size 1410 x 2240 PX and my interior with 5.5 by 8.5 inches...please can use the front cover with pix size on interior of 5.5 by 8.5 inches? Is the front cover fit/ good to go with interior size? Please do help clarify. Thanks sir
Mr Paul, i have checked the conversion on google and is 9.40 x 14.93 inches. i have already designed the front cover in pixel and i want use it in my main cover paper design, not that i want to do... Please, how do convert the image which is already in pixel into inches because this is what's applicable to this front cover have already designed. I need your professional guide and advice. Thanks!
This is absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately I saw this after publishing my first two books. Is there a way to go back and redo the titles and subtitles to add additional keywords? Thank you for your video.
Hi Paul. Thanks so much for sharing all this contents. Just a question. I´ve been trying to find the keywords with this method but i can´t find any , as much words i try. Is it possible that something as change since you put the vídeo ? I´ve been trying to find keywords for a coloring book but none of the "normal" words that you expected to appear, actually appears. Again, thanks.
Hi Paul, thanks a lot for the useful information! I have a little question - when you fill in your 7 slots with relevant words (in your example "men, women, teacher, headmaster"), do you also do research on how competitive those words are? Like you won't use "men" or "women" if you see a competition of more than 1000 and BSR more than 300000? Or do you just do it for title and subtitle?
I've watched several video's in searching for the best keywords to use. When you all are searching in Amazon - within the list given with your title search - you see visibly each books ranking & ASIN#. HOW do you guys see that? When I search I don't get that info in my search results? Is it an extention? I do not understand how you all get this info, but I don't.
If I only use journal and gift in the 7 boxes, will my books appear in results for teacher appreciation journal and teacher appreciation gift and not just for journal and gift?
If you haven't already realized it...your wasting your time here lol. Rather get a proper job. These people will eventually get you to buy their course or spend money
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! A very informative tutorial like all the videos I've watched so far. I'm sure the rest will be as useful if not more! 😃
Hello, I must say I'm sort of flabergasted by your videos...now, I would like to ask you a favor...I used to publish KDP books and E BOOKs with kindle create...the apply on my computer.. yet, it's been quite some time that I didn' t go back and do somthing, but I completely zapped "how it works" I mean, how to put the book together...CAN YOU HELP ??? Thanks so much Danielle from France. I publish videos on how to learn the notes on the guitar neck, the books are published on amazone and I would like to create new books but I don't "remember" how it works...!!!
I'd like to get a clarification about your use of the ISBN plus the testing of keywords. Is it better if there is no competitive use of the keyword or if there is competitive use of the keyword. I re-watched the video to see if you clarified this but could not see a clear answer. Can you please clarify?
It's not worth repeating the kewyords you use in the title and subtitle in the backend. You can, it's no big deal, it's just that you may want to fill up the boxes with other keywords.
@@paulmarles So I understand that, according to the video, you use the words JOURNAL, MEN, IDEAS and PLANNER that the Amazon search bar suggests and then words related to them. It's right? Thanks Paul.
Thanks Paul. So glad I found your channel. I published my first recipe journal by watching your video. Watching this, I'm not sure I did well in the keyword section. So I'm thinking of unpublishing and correcting it. Quick question how do we do keyword search like you demonstrated in your video. Also, is there a special way to write descriptions.
These two videos explain how I do keyword research and how I use the keywords: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KV-rUyBVYlE.html and ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yE2k1jsELdw.html
So, on Amazon this full title will show up as: Teacher Appreciation Notebook: Cool Stylish Pink Teacher Appreciation Gift for Women. I have a question on whether it's recommended to repeat Teacher Appreciation for example in the subtitle if it's already been used in the title? Doesn't look bad here, but I ask for other possible scenarios where it could sound repetitive? I guess I could add something to the beginning of the keyword as to not have it come up to consecutively.
Nandarani Abril, Paul explained your question at 06:30 - 07:14. Using the phrase, “Teacher Appreciation,” over and over again is redundant. Using it only once in either, Title, Subtitle, or 7-keyword is enough.
