They responded to me pretty quickly-2 to 3 days. It probably took 7 to 10 days to get everything squared away. Ideally, you'd start a month before your shoot.

Sometimes the FAA responds quickly within a day or two and it's painless, other times it takes weeks or they get flat out denied without explanation.
