How not to film with a fisheye. I mean all the other stuff is good, but those head cuts, damn.

I mean you usually wanna see the tricks too... you can't always get the head though the fish eye is capable but you want to see the board too or mostly

well i can just tell from looking at it tho that he isnt tilting the camera up enough to be able to get head in, i slightly tilt it up and can get it in fine

I agree with the headcuts bro. I'm definitely going to make a proper tutorial when I get the chance on how to film skating, how to edit, etc. Keep a look out.

Keeaun Jones they do this kinda thing to make more of a focus on the actual trick, you get the entire skater “pre-trick” and “post trick” but you want to have the focus centered towards the trick, not their face

Wow Aaron and Lance, that was a great video! I'm really excited if you guys make a series on this! You actually did this at a perfect time because I'm looking for equipment now and really want to make much much more videos and would love help from you two! Yaasssss. Definitely more filming videos. This one was very basic but very good and helps a lot of people. Also maybe a teach your mom to film. Because some kids have to have their moms film them.

Another thing I learnt from filming with fisheyes is, don't look at the viewfinder. Look at the skater instead. It takes awhile to get used to, but by not looking at the viewfinder, you have a much faster reaction time when the skater slips out of his board and you can pull away faster. This saved my fisheye lens so many times.

I was thinking during this whole video... (PLOT TWIST) "Lance has been filming for a long time now, and he's alwasy been on top of the skateboard and all his films look pretty good, not shaky or moved. So that makes me think that he is actually really good at riding. Because rolling with a camera filming ain't that easy. So maybe.. he really skates good and all of the "Way to become sponsored" is maybe just a set up.

what should you do if you don't have an extendable screen like for example the canon 600d has an extendable lens but the 1200d doesn't I have the 1200d and i'm filming my friends quite often is there anyway I can surely keep the skaters in the shot aswell as the board ?

Sup dudes, I have a 15mm lens on my crop sensor, I'm about to go film for some bmx people and my only concern is how to focus, my lens opens up to f/2.8 , so I'm just wondering if my subject is going to be coming in and out of my focal plane... Should I not shoot at 2.8? Should I focus near infinity?

ManiacSkateboarding shit didn't happen in this lol. "shit happens" would be half the head getting cut when the skater pops a trick. lance was getting just the board.

The Rokinon 8mm 2.8 lens is a really great wide piece of glass. Only problem is that you can't put lens protectors over it since it doesn't have threads, so rocks or boards can kick up and possibly crack the lens. But the quality is way better than an Opteka lens. Your image is only as good as the glass it passes through!

I use a Sony SLT camera + Gopro, both attached in the same "scorpion" handler try to get 2 cameras for recording and you'll have better shots due to sometimes one camera gets a nice trick and sometimes other camera films better tricks...

Or, if you have a cropped sensor DSLR (600d or 60d for example) use a 13mm fisheye, you won't get the fisheye look as much, cause it'll be cropped more, but you'll be further 'zoomed in'.
