Thanks, this was helpful. I basically did most of this without feeling like I really knew what I was doing. So nice to have the confirmation. I did wait and did have the price for down while I was waiting, gambling that it would. I was also finding that those advertised "flight deals" that the algorithm was stirred up to give me, were all really crappy flights with horrible layover times, like 23 hours overnight where you couldn't go out and enjoy the place in daytime...and severe luggage restrictions, like one personal item for under the seat. So waiting did pay off. I got a direct flight, extreme basic, with 2 pieces carry on allowance. Toronto to Toulouse, on my set dates, mid May, returning July all of which is peak season. Guess I'm just lucky?? 🎉
