I have 200 hours in this game. This is the first time I have seen anyone use KerbNet, and the first time I actually used it myself. Never understood it, and didn't see any use for it until now. Had to jump in-game and test it out and consider me surprised. You probably already know this, but a polar orbit would be optimal for scanning the surface, that way you'll cover the entire planet with enough orbits (and not miss anything near the poles(hint hint))
You are definitely right, a polar orbit is better for scanning the whole surface. I’m glad you found this fun feature! From what I understand, anomalies are hidden on all the planets and moons.
I use the rovemate. whack it on a satellite and take it to an elliptical orbit with a period of at least two days so the planet rotates a good turn while out at apogee where you can view the whole planet in kerbnet. The Rovemate has 100% anomaly detection. compared to 60% for the next best. you've just got to get it up high
