Thanks for voting in our latte flavor battle. We made a separate, short video to announce the results: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7xFrFwwfwUI.html
I used to go to a Chinese store and could get 15 lbs of raw cashews really cheap so nuts would be another idea for folks. It is a good idea to store in the freezer bags I agree. I also saw people asking for single folks. That is where she said team up with some of your single friends and share the cost. That can be great fun with friends.
I'm so glad you mentioned the raw cashews. I've gotten them inexpensively at the Chinese store, too. And there is a Middle Eastern store around the corner from my house that for years had the cheapest price in town for raw cashews.
Consider food dehydration, a garage sale food dehydrator can make great culinary treasures, I use to make beef jerky, much cheaper than store bought & often taste better.
I’m getting bulk food at Costco‘s and Sam’s as usual but now I can get it through restaurant depot as well it’s a restaurant store in our area that now is opening to the public
Azure standard is in Oregon. I just started purchasing from them this year. I just placed my third order. I am starting to do a comparison sheet with them, Amazon and other bulk food stores. I live in Michigan and there is a bulk food store about an hour from us. I’ve never been there, but I’m going with a couple of friends next month. I’m trying to stock my long term storage, and so your vlogs have been very informative for me. God bless.
Sounds like you have a great system for comparing all the prices. You live in a super good area for buying in bulk. Let us know how your trip to the bulk food store an hour from you goes. We'd love to know if the prices and selection are amazing. Don't you love finding new places to get a great deal?
@@UndertheMedian They have drop points along I-5 and you'll be notified when the truck will be there. There's also a fellow member who can pick it up for you if the time/date is inconvenient. Great quality products and fantastic customer service!
I took your advice, and called the Amish bulk store in Shipshewana, IN earlier this week, and they put bulk items aside for me, and quoted me the prices, so I knew how much my items were before I got there. I big bulk bag of rolled oats cost like $14.46, I also bought 50 lbs of Farina, 50 lbs of org. golden flax seeds, and 50lbs of sucanat. All of this cost a little over $200 bucks because the flax seeds were the most expensive item. Lord willing I'll be able to get back out there in August.😊
We usually go to the Amish store in Arcola a couple times a year... It is about 2 1/2 hour drive... It is a nice day drive... HOWEVER, we just found another one in St. Louis, about 45 minutes from us... We will be visiting it this Saturday... It is called St. Louis Food Outlet... On Saturdays, they have extra clearance sale on Saturdays... We are excited to try it out!
This was great! Where there is a will there is a way! Especially with the internet now...there are so many options to find places! Thank you for mentioning sharing/purchasing with others if you can't use it all-great option!
Hello from Great Britain! Very nice videos! You are such a positive couple! And ypir advice have already helped me through the first month of my frugal journey ☺️. Keep up the good job folks!
Appreciate this video and the one on your purchases from Heartland in Cuba. We live in Galesburg, so I think we're a bit closer to Heartland than you are (40 miles). I'm sure I'll be going down there before long!
One other option that we are trying this year is for carnivores: we are buying from a local farmer: 1/2 a pig and 1/4 of a steer. We are working with the farmer and the butcher for specific cuts and packages. I’ll let you know how it works! We bought a standing freezer last year so it should be full!
There is a family run grain mill about 1.5 hrs away from me. They are a gluten free mill and sell mostly 50 lb bags of products. I purchased 100 lbs white rice flour, 50 lbs brown rice and 50 lbs tapioca starch for $143 cash. AMAZING deal!! I plan on checking out their prices on oats next time.
Thanks for the video. This was very helpful and informative. Do you know if any of these places sell organic foods in bulk? I would like to find a place to buy organic beans in bulk.
Not for bulk, but for prices…can’t beat Aldi, at least in our area. The selection is smaller, but they have 2-3 choices of most everything, which is usually fine.
Be sure to check your receipt if buying large packages. When we shop at the local restaurant supply store, there is almost always something that gets doublescanned, which can add $30 to your order!
I live alone but try to buy some things in bulk that I know I'll use. Bulk to me is a lot less than a family. I have started shopping at a Latino market near my office and finding great deals.
Oh, no. We made a quick, last minute edit and now I'm wondering if we inadvertently cut out the part where we announced the winner. My peppermint mocha latte won. But it was close.
From working for Tyson Foods, many of the restaurant supply stores will not sell to the lay person like GFS does. Many of them only sell to restaurants. Some of them, like US Foods, will only sell to you if you can buy a certain quota per week.
Being 4000+ miles away from you in Denmark in Northern Europe, I figured this video couldn't possibly help me, but lo and behold, I got plenty of good tips from you - as usual. I LOVE your videos and I am, as ever, a huge fan of your mutually respectful and loving marriage. You must have such fun together being video stars. 😎😎
My uncle had a sams membership, costco, gfs, etc. He took me all the time.i pay gas money, like $30 or so.these shops, all in the same strip mall, with a super walmart, dollar tree, and 3 thrift stores
I personally am terrified for the coming year. I have been looking at dried eggs, and dried egg whites. I know many things are easy to make as long as you have eggs. I have been stocking up on beans already, coffee, I have some pasta but can make my own. Do you have suggestions for dried eggs. I will check GFS. They were ten minutes from me. Thank you, Brenda
You keep saying that you will share the information with us in the description area on this site but I don’t see any place where there’s a description area where you have saved the information
Sprouts use to have the sliced dehydrated potatoes in their bulk section but have not had any in sometime. It's a great item to have around & versatile staple for meals. They do have dehydrated shredded potatoes which are handy & cheap.
@@UndertheMedian I wish I could get dehydrated carrots as well, I do have the onions. Celery seeds are great to substitute for salt I understand. I have a yard full of wild onions.
I am a salvage food junkie. We did our shopping adventure earlier this week. Best buys - maple syrup (32 oz.) $4.99, 24 ct case of chicken chili (8 oz) $3.00, 8 ct case Sheila G chocolate bark $1 and 24 ct case of Gevalia coffee (2.5 oz bags) $6. We drive a little over 2 hours each way but fill up the back of our Pathfinder every time. We just consider it a date day.
Very helpful for buying bulk food. I have a Amish store about 35 minutes away and a grocery store you mentioned about 5 Moore mile from the Amish. So that is not bad to get to. I go about Once or twice a year. Thanks for the. Good information it is very helpful when I go again. Love your videos you two. It is good informatiom
Searching for salvage, discount etc stores in GA and SC is kinda my hobby! I’m obsessed with it! Oh I see somebody is a Dr Who fan!! My boyfriend lovesssssss Dr Who!!
My boys love Doctor Who. For a while, we totally geeked out on that series and watched every time a new episode dropped. The one where the three doctors all show up in the same episode - so cool!
Road side farmers selling fresh goods to preserve. Mom died in 2014, we still have canned black eyed peas from one of these farmers. Farmers let you pick on the halves sometimes.
We just had a local farmer who just had too many berries to pick. So, she opened the field to local people for U-pick for two days at a great price per pound.
We accidentally edited out the results. So, we made a separate, short video to announce the winner. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7xFrFwwfwUI.html

Hi why don't you ever talk about the single people in.your video s why should we watch you we don't all have others I find it very disappointed tha we are not included feedback would be nice Jeannette smith
I'm unmarried, no kids. I find the advice related to frugality still apply. I don't need to batch cook for a family of 6 or stock up that much but I still have a pantry of food for myself and challenge myself to spend the least amount of money as possible. My monthly budget for food is just much less
Single people do bulk cooking, too. But, it is like, 6 or so servings. This would work for a couple, too. Maybe have some shows where the bulk recipes also include the equations for smaller 'bulk' cooking? And when you buy in bulk, maybe tell us if the bags/containers come in smaller or a variety of sizes. Now, THAT would include singles/couples into the show, too.
Just a frugal smidge of advice, Larry & Hope are a married couple with a family some kids have flown their nest, and some kids are still home. Single folks can be FRUGAL TOO !!! Yes you can buy bulk, if you so choose to do. Please take my advice with a grain of salt...... Every thing this Couple talks about doesn't always apply to my Cowboy and myself. I absolutely love to listen to what they have experienced tried and real life ....
