We also discussed that if you are coming to Canada for the first time, then the best way is to book an Airbnb for 15-30 days. The cost of an Airbnb Room will be around $1500-2000 CAD in Vancouver and $1200-1500 in Surrey. If two people come together and they share the room, it will cost them half the price i.e., $600-750. The first thing you must do before house hunting is to look for like minded and compatible people with whom you can share a room or a flat. You can find compatible housemates through College groups or Facebook groups like Indians in Vancouver, Indians in Toronto, Students in Vancouver, etc. The next step is to start your house hunt. You can search for a suitable student housing on Facebook marketplace by applying suitable filters. For a quick rent comparison, you can find a single room in Vancouver for between $800-1200 and in Surrey for around $600-800. Whereas, the cost of 1 bed 1 bath or studio apartments in Vancouver/ Toronto downtown is $2000-2500 and in Surrey / Brampton is around $1600-2000.
