I met my best friend and riding buddy 25 years ago when I was a tea boy @ the local bike shop and the owner said 'oi you two both like the same bikes' and push us into going for a ride. Thanks Roy Taylor of Mendabike :)
I ride mostly solo because of the freedom it gives me. I tend to make a lot of random detours whenever I see or hear of something interesting. I only do group rides if they are planned well in advance.
My mate Scott has always been into mountain biking. And started his own group called humungous fungus years ago. We all got ebikes in the group. We meet up every Thursday in Cwmbran. And we head over to cwmcarn. We always have a good laugh. Great trails and great company. Always looking forward to Thursday now.
I enjoy solo riding because you can go where you want, not have to wait or catch up with anyone, listen to your tunes and do your youtube vlogs, also explore new stuff and not worry about fellow riders saying "how much further" & "do we have to go that way". Ebike life is an adventure so go exploring
I do have a sign on my Motorhome that says " Does not play well with others " but that is to stop people camping too close to us. Safest way for me is to ride by myself as ego shuffling is reduced. But I do have 3 Emtbs and love to see the joy and gleefulness when someone comes riding with me and discovers Emtbs open up a whole new world of fun pleasure and lifestyle no matter what age. E=Mtb².
I joined a group in Calgary called YYCMTB. It's a great bunch of people and we go out riding the trails every week. The rest of the week I ride pretty much alone on trails closer to home.
I ride alone and I’m always looking to meet people. The people I know with traditional bikes don’t want to ride with me, they think I’ll goo too fast or they’ll slow me down. All that without ever talking to me first. I’ve registered for my first race this weekend I’m hoping to meet people there. Covid has killed bike shop rides hopefully they will comeback soon.
Recently took a fall while on my own and broke my collar bone. Painful and frightening at the same time. I was about 15 minutes walk back to the car. I certainly needed a friend. Lol
Pop into local bike shop.....🤣🤣🤣my local shop still only let's you in if you've made an appointment 🤦♂️...and staff are so dumb they said to me on the phone "there is no such thing as an sram universal derailleur hanger..."and I'm like..."err there is as I have a broken one in my hand.".....best thing in the world is riding alone...just be careful and know your limits, emtb isn't all about smashing those jumps and getting air .
I just bought a brand new Max'xis tire for the front of my mountain bike it wobbles they said from the lost company that it was safe to use and I'm was wondering if it really is safe to use can anybody help me on the matter
Since the global @#$@% pandemic I exclusively ride alone. And I actually love it. I love riding alone, e-bike, normal-bike, motor bike .... Yes, the "what will eat me by the time someone finds me" aspect is grim, but I rather die hitting a tree while saying "oh shit" .... than other causes ...
On bike chat: I die of small-talk ... family dinners are literal torture .... then I talk to a random dude about a front brake for 2 hours at the park's parking lot :O ... Or ... "the quality of dirt today' :) .... weird topic, and admit it you talk about "how great the dirt is today" :P .. not strange at all.. so true :)
