Just a small tip, park your ship on the ground next to the outpost, this enables 5 npc ships to land instead of 4. You are correct, exotic spawn rate is same across all systems where you can find them, which is unusual to find a youtube video with the correct information.
If you don't want to spend navigation data, the Minotaur can scan for crashed ships and freighters on the ground and the Nautilon can do the same in the water.
I like following the faint 'trade route' lines to where a bunch of them go down to a planet surface. They will lead to a trading station that will always be busy - some aren't. Worth putting down a save beacon so you can easily find it again if you get an early pirate raid to fight off. If the Exotic doesn't turn up within 20 minutes, I'm gone. There's always another system. Space stations are slower, but at least you can pass the time scrapping ships for nanites and augments. Best chance of S class ships overall is in pirate systems, btw; even better than 3 star systems.
I tend to just install the economy scanner, leads me straight to the planet side hub, but ya, early game this works a charm finding the trade outposts way quicker than random searching.
No, I've given up on the trade scanner for that. Too many random stations have slow traffic (only 1-2 ships at a time). Those where a bunch of trade routes lead to a planet are always busy, and easy to spot.@@J3ST3RIRL
It's funny, when I saw another player's exotic ship for the first time, what came to my mind was, "Damn that ship looks weird. Meh, no thanks." I went about my merry way and thought nothing of it. Then the more I continued to see players having one, the more the design started to grow on me. Then one day luck would stroke me every so gently when I landed on a space station. Not even 5 seconds after landing I turn and see a blue exotic land right in front of me. At first I thought it was another player docking, but then I saw an npc walk out and that's when I said, "HOLY SHIT" and bee lined straight for it. Named her "Guiding Moonlight" and now I can't see myself flying any other ship. I guess it was meant to be. lol
I don't like the look of all of them, but there are def a few that really pop for me. I can fly other ships, But I always end up back in the "Last Laugh".
@@J3ST3RIRL I def know what you mean with not all of them appealing to you. This shows how it was meant to be with me and that ship I got lucky with, because it ended up being a design that I would actually like. It's the same design as what you have on the thumbnail, except its missing the back piece. In a funny way, it seems like the ship chose me in that moment. lol My guiding moonlight. (Bloodborne reference)
I just got the game during the recent sale. Only have 140ish hours in. Few days ago I spot a odd ship at a trading post while following guides on making money fast doing trade paths and farming high value resources. It was an S class, didn't even see it was an exotic and I just had enough to get it trading in a b class solar. Find out it was a 'squid ship'. Just a bit ago today selling and buying out of a space station I spot an odd small gold ball ship... another S class exotic. Yoinked it too. So now I have Squid Games and Spicy Meatball to buzz around in. Also saw the triangle winged one you showed in the thumbnail last night but didn't have enough then to grab it up and I was not about to trade in Squid Games for it.
This can totally happen, just wish it was timer based. If I spend an hour in a system, show me all it has, but sometimes it doesn't work that way. Glad you found it in that time tho, my luck seems to suck. LOL
one day I came across two exotic spaceships in one day on accident didn't even farm them, nor expect, I've seeen only one before that in my 150 hours of gameplay
Here are the secret steps provided by me. Step #1: Be me. Step #2: Have a burning desire to get an S-Class Freighter. Step #3: Fail 50 times in a row. Step #4: Get angry and have your friend try for you. Step #5: Mostly she will fail, not being a gamer but when she does succeed her luck and your (my) bad luck merge into one where when you want an S-Class Freighter you see 2 Exotic ships land inside the saved Freighter at the same time. Step #6: Stop being me, buy them both. Step #7: Profit.
Ya know, yes... I have the same kind of luck. Some days its all gravy, then the next i'll go 8 hours down a rabbit hole and never see what I am looking for. Freakin RNG.
@@J3ST3RIRL There's no end to it with me, my friend has called up her brother who's going to get my the Freighter as after 110 resets I have officially given up hope. I just look at it at the bright side, I know how to fight and do so efficiëntly now, lmao.
@@marilynlucero9363 Don't rule out a system type freighter, some look pretty cool, and s class is super easy to get, usually within 30 min, stats are near identical once upgraded.
@@J3ST3RIRL I used the Cheesy exploit to reload saves and know which system the amazing looking ship I want to get is at, just need to unlock some colors with Nanites. I went from Fred 6 to Fred 4 which is a Wealthy (3-Star) system spawning the exact type I want. I got Team Viewer so feel free getting it for me if you want to beat my close friend's brother to the punch. Edit: It used to be previously possible to save in the Space Station to reload save but this is no longer possible, when I did it before and after the Pirates were defeated with both occasions the Freighter disappeared and had to wait 3 active ingame hours.
Completely agree, some systems are a first wave spawn, some it takes over an hour, some even longer. Even if you wait it out, unless you know the style from reddit or another post somewhere, there is no guarantee you are gonna like the ship. It really is an odd way of getting 1.
@@J3ST3RIRL I eventually went to hunting in a space station and not even within the first minute I found one. A blue and gold one wing lookin ship. G o o d.
soo .. not sure how "rare" this is, but i was waiting at the tradepost for a buddy to come land and i left the pad on my exocraft . upon leaving i looked back and noticed an exotic pick up and fly off from the pad .. all the while a second same exotic was circling to land . i watched it land but was too far to realize it wasn't a fighter .. i returned to the pad right as the second one flew away and i was able to get a quick scan to see it was an S class . i am in disbelief that i captured both exotics on vid in a 2 min window and let them slip right from under me 😭
How long had you been at the outpost? some systems have a double spawn exotic first wave, rare, but it happens. If you had been there a while, pretty rare to get a double as the spawns cycle. Wish I coulda seen it!
What are the chances of getting one crashed from a cartographer distress map? Is that another option? I mean I picked up 15 maps and I got tired of chasing them down after about 8. I got four crashed ships, 3 crashed freighters and an abandoned outpost where all I got were nanites.
ya, i guess i forgot to mention that. It is still a low probability, but def possible. same issue tho, no telling if it is the ship you love, right color etc.
For me ifound if you wait for an exotic at a trading post after like 15 min if you wander off away from the tradingposton foot and listen the exotic likes to spawn it happens somewhat often for me I'd like to know if anyone else has had that experience.
All my ships are exotic most amount aloud 10 I think even found a royal red and gold. Guppy's are my favorite got three blue and silver blue and gold and a little ball type which is my favorite almost 2600 hyperdrive or so and over 1800 maneuverability.
