Graveyards are very relaxing to sit and meditate. And I think we should be using them. Picking up any rubbish or doing a wee bit of tidying around some of less visited graves also makes me feel like I’m not just using the cemetery for my own benefit.
Great video Mark, just remember to flush a tap for three minutes before taking the water if your unsure of when it was last run, there is a risk of Legionella a really nasty virus with flu like symptoms that can be fatal. The risk is not from drinking the water (as the Bactria is in all water) but from inhaling aerosols/fine spray when your filling up or washing in the water. Another great place for getting water is hotels. I used to look after one that had five outside taps. I had to flush them every week (it's a legal requirement to prevent Legionella) I was always very sympathetic to van lifers who wanted water as it meant I didn't need to flush the tap that week!!
legeonella is caught by inhaling "water vapour droplets" from water that has been stored or exposed to 20 to 43 degrees c for a prolonged period for it to develop,,,NOT from cold water sources.....that said always flush the tap for a while to clear any stagnant elements.
As I used to live on a narrow boat, just get a water point key and there are thousands of taps, showers. Washing machines in some spots and normally somewhere to park too.
Mark whenever I need water I just go to the kitchen sink in my (landlords) flat. The convenience costs me £900/month, you've got life figured out much better than I have
I used to use a grave yard all the time. I never drank the water. I just used it forever cooking and washing up. Another place I used is petrol stations. Good information ❤
I no all Asda stores have an outside tap, normally front of shop. These are used for watering plants & doggie bowels etc, spray cleaning. I have drank from these and perfectly safe 🙂🙂
Great informative video 👍 as a live aboard the only thing I've come across is that some outside taps are turned off for the winter. I am working on my own water filtration system.😊
Spotless Water is a great option for filling up larger tanks. You have to pay for it, but it's literally only a few pence, Available in most big towns in England
Nice One !! I just been reading a good way to warm up cold feet is wrap them in aluminium foil ! A handy little tip ? Dunno. But i'm going to try it. Maybe not that comfortable, i shall see. Apparently you can keep them wrapped for as long as you want. Like one of those alumiinium foil blankets i guess. Even in your boots
Mark there is a way of working out whether water from a tap is drinking or potable by putting your hand over the tap mid flow to see if the flow stops or continues. I think its drinkable if it continues but I cant remember which way round it is.Like you though, I always buy drinking water and tap water is only used for washing & washing up. Public toilets, supermarkets and garages are other sources.
I obtain fresh unfiltered drinking water direct from the lakes, rivers and streams in the UK. The cemeteries in France are also a good place to fill my 25L drinking water tank.
Water taps found in graveyards is potable, and I've yet to meet a church warden or vicar who has refused me permission to fill up a container when I've asked......water taps at beach huts is also potable, however it's paid for by the beach hut owners in their ground rent and I have encountered objection on one occasion. Many Morrisons petrol stations have an outside tap.
I was going to say a church yard, and I always have a four way sillcock key just in case the tap star handle has been taken off the top. That key is a really usefull piece of kit.
You're an absolute legend mark truly a precious gift to this world, living the dream! peace and positivity, my brother sending love and blessing your way from ireland 🤝❤
Need to get your solar sorted and get distilled water, i use megahome water distiller. Like a kettle in size but only uses 600w an hour. the purest best tasting water you can get. I cant drink tap the taste is disgusting. You can clean any water to pure in mine i can even do salt water.
@@QB2ERS my comment was if you’re short of water, a quick fix would be going to buy a few litres instead of driving around and round looking for it, so buy some cheap water to tide you over until you can find a free source, but I have to say just because we live in a van it doesn’t mean we’re entitled to free stuff
@@thenoworriesnomad indeed, but just think of all the tax avoiding corporations and rich indicuduals, including some MPs who are based in tax havens for tax purposes. They are the real and damaging to the economy element that has a big effect on us ordinary tax payers who pay too much because of them.
Mark,i enjoy your videos but can you explain what is so bad with tap water?,apart from, perhaps, the chlorine levels used by different utility suppliers!,,,but the vast majority of the uk population use and drink it every day,,,thats around 60 million users.!!i am 73 and have been drinking tap, bottled and natural spring water all my life,,,i am a plumber by trade and well educated in the provision ,use and storage of water.,,,,you would be horrified at the biological and chemical results i have received from having water tested from boreholes and "natural source" water that people have thought was"pure"!!! .as an aside, the water you espouse to collect from these"fresh" sources is from everyday water company tap water! and if not it would say so..,,,and as another aside,i visit many "van life park ups" where the almost permanent incumbents take their water from the ball valve of cattle troughs!!!,,,all well and good you think!!,,,well how does anyone know if that water service has not been cut into or broken in some mucky yard or field ,,or from some old bowser or tank that has been exposed to a wide range of tempreture changes 🤔and dodgy bacteria ingested into the pipework?,,,,it happens ,regularly.so if you use water from an unknown source BOIL IT ✌
OK, you want the best easiest water supply, It's the quickest and they are available in every street, even a small village will have many, worked out what it is yet ? A fire hydrant , cost for valve and lightweight key £100 lasts a lifetime. Someone says you can't do that well I have for decades
@@Allan9966 it was a joke only people who are awake to what is happening in the absolute joke of a world we are living in. I suggest you still keep watching EastEnders and have a nice life 👍
