I am an Ohio prospector. Our gold is very similar in nature and what you’re describing. My best deposits are found just after a very sharp corner. If you look down the stream from a place that The river returns nearly 180 there will be a pooling area on the downstream side of the inside corner. Loaded with flower gold! I am working one right now with 40 bits per pan

@@Askjeffwilliams the story of the Kings Law is really interesting. It wasn't the king of England, it was a guy who was appointed "King of New York" for a few years DURING the revolution. He needed money for something,I forget what. NY became a territory of the new US, they just kept the same law system. Then when it became a state, only a few things were changed. So the mining laws are a relic of that interim period when NY's appointed governor called himself a king

I live in Storrs Connecticut Jeff. That part of the tectonic plate that slammed in to the Proto African tectonic plate and then tore away from it. The collision caused a rippling of the crust(Appalachian mountains) the tearing away caused the Connecticut Valley rift. I live along that separation and have rocks from Africa in my back yard,as well as beautiful exposed bedrock and gorgeous schist. I have two huge plung pools and can't find a speck. I had the rocks and soil tested, and get a .007 ppm .... basically nothing. Please come over eat,drink and pan with me!

Grew up in NY had a backyard stream running off a drumlin checked it every time I went out lookin for that shiny + arrowheads but zippo. In a gold area here, been out about a half dozen times but the knees limit me...keep swinging that detector.

One test pan, and the rest of the cons go in a bucket to go through the tube. A tube with riffles that corkscrews downward and fine gold loves the inside bend, the rest flushes through. I hate panning since we discovered DEF spout tubing. (diesel exhaust fluid) tubing is free. Ask.

Love it👍 if you get a chance or maybe already have, but how about like swatara Creek in pa,,, it starts as a mountain stream way North and eventuly dumps in to the Susquehanna river,,, to v seen the head waters,,, cool water fall, but there are many creeks that feed the swatara , IV only ever played around, don't have an accualy pan, I use a metal pie pan,,,, 👍😂 but there is gold in that creek

Jeff I live in Maine. You ever try for gold up here. Swift river used to be a great place but it’s been pounded for years. So it’s hard to find legal places to pan gold but would love to see what u could get done up here. Great video ty and God bless

Hey Jeff, your the Best! have you ever thought about doing a trip here to the Philippines? I've been here 8yrs now, but only starting to realize how rich in Gold this country is since I've been watching your videos.... I was able to go with a neighbor friend to an abandoned Gold mine that's for sale in an area where there's still lots of active mines. I'm still learning how to separate the out of the rocks(Lol). I also saw your video you did with Jason @Mt Baker Mining & Metals! I watch his videos also a lot.

I've heard of people finding small amounts of gold in my state of Ohio northeast and by the amounts they were getting would not be viable option for profit unless you are just doing it for the fun and not the monetary value thanks again jeff for showing us how to get gold and possibly leaving your comfort zone of the desert so I'm in like Flynn if I can be a winner if I find those good good gold flakes keep the great and informative content coming sir William and what are your thoughts on doing episode with Gly and Laura

Hi. I love your video's. Your New York gold videos are near and dear for me. I was crevicing north of one of your hikes that you did in NYS . I found nice pickers crevicing about a 3 ft crevice. The discoveries of 2 areas were by someone else. It has been since 2006 since I have been there. I have a photo of the 2 vials with a dime for scale. I can provide the location on P.M.

I live in NY and have a friend who owns a sand mine. I have prospected the sand and did find gold. Very small and a lot of work but gold. I would like to be able to sift it faster, maybe a sluice would work.
