After college and ratings attained, in 1975, I sent out many resumes and cover letter. Fortunately I presented myself well and I would go in person, when possible. I was lucky to get job offers, and job-hopped until 1977. I made sacrifices in my personal life, climbing the ladder. All this before computers, the internet and any interview gouges existed (except in books at the library). I interviewed with United, and got a NO (very close, but no cigar). I interviewed with American, and got hired in 1978 with 2,500 hours. I had a Forty year career, and it was quite the ride. Remember, the squeaky wheel, gets the oil. Keep preservering !

Thanks for the ideas. I’m at about 230 hours and I came to aviation from the sports nutrition industry. Being close to done with commercial single, finding a job is something I’m starting to prep for. Appreciate the video!

Michael good vid. I’m on a bunch of facebook groups and seeing that it is extremely difficult right now for pilots even with 800-1000 hours to find low time work around the country right now because there are so many low time pilots out their right now.. Any insight or what are you hearing? Thanks

This post is 4 months old, I’m getting my instrument now and moving on. I’ve heard its near impossible to find jobs right now out of CFI rating, true? I think this is going to roadblock thousands of us just getting done with training, not sure when it will get better. Where are you looking?

@@pilotbsinthesky3443 bro its tougher than anything we think of man. 2 month after completion of cpl and i cant get any lowtime job with 266 hrs. its either you really need have good achivements and any other admirable previous work experience or good amount of flying hours with you. other than that is a deadlock. no matter if you go there in person or email them etc. i am thinking of doing cfi and all but end of the day i think its all about luck and destiny. try applying if lucky then bless you. goodluck and happy landing.
