You're the best. This year, I'm completing my 4th anniversary at the company where I was hired after watching one of your videos and applying what I've learned from it.Thank you always for sharing your knowledge.
Great videos, Don!! I don't care what a company thinks about me: I have IT, Hardware, Network and Software Engineering experience from Apple, Inc, Samsung Electronics and Google, respectively! Now, I'm at Nvidia! "Culture Fit" is code for discrimination, prejudice and racism, mostly all of the time!
Great Point. It’s straight out of a 101 persuasion handbook. In addition to figure out why they might not higher you, by making them think and find reasons why to work with you, pushes the situation in your favour by leveraging self-persuasion. I have done this, and it works.
Five years ago, I was interviewing me for a job with Synchrony Financial. Most of the call centers do not hire men in Kansas City. Synchrony Financial was 99% women. The only reason I was hired was the interviewer was an Hispanic male who was ex military and because I was ex military , he hired me. But it was the only reason I got hired there.
Many interviewers have already shared the next 90-180 day work plan/agenda during the interview, so unfortunately, this technique may not work. Instead, focus on asking the right question at the end of the interview. You can ask the interviewer: "Imagine you just offered a candidate a job on the spot. What three unique things did you hear from that candidate that made you offer them the job?" Then, elaborate on those three things as your concluding statements.
