In reference to 6:39 in the video, digital radios without displays CAN make private calls, however, the amount of contacts that you can have are limited on non-display radios and the user interface can get confusing as more steps are involved to initiate the private call. This is why we recommend getting radios with displays if you plan on constantly using the private call feature.
