Can GG do a video on exotic leather shoes and accessories? The history, quality, maintenance, and how to style them? Until recently I thought they were gaudy, but I've since seen these products worn very tastefully
How to find a good hair product? 1. It shouldn't look like the Exxon Valdez wrecked on your shower floor when washing ti out; 2. Take note of how many people tell you of your uncanny resemblance to Peter Lorre when you use it.
U guys reads minds or Something ? 😂 im just getting into hair stuff, mostly pomades since i do much of the 1930-40 style and that i learned why greasers go around with a comb all the time, pomade actually doesent Stiffen! Im amazed! I thought every Gel, wax, pomade and what’s so ever stiffened, I’ve rocked the combo of tenax medium hold and Brylcreem but my hair is like yours only without curls si I need some stronger stuff I think, the last part of this video really helped cause I tend to get a bit confused about the terms like heavy/light, shine , strong or medium hold etc😛 I’m excited to go into this, I’m getting my first period haircut next week, probably an undercut or something 😃
I have long hair, it's dry and very thick and I've found that all the "frizz" products contain loads of oil that simply doesn't work. I now use pure Aloe Vera. Sure it only lasts around 8 hours but it's natural and really smooths the hair. The oil products only last that long too and in the end your hair looks worse. The only one I rate is brylcreem but even that builds up in your hair over the days. Just like to add that it's really easy to make pomade. Don't buy the Pharma rubbish, Loads of recipes out there, Beeswax, Shea butter, bit of fullers earth for example for a low shine one.
Thank you for another great video and mentioning the EWG. Building on that, would you consider doing a video on ethical menswear and environmental issues of the clothing industry? Even famous and supposed luxury brands produce under less than stellar conditions and the modern gentleman should be aware of the consequences of his actions.
Interesting stuff. I have very voluminous straight hair even though I'm now thinning a little on top (so choose to sweep it all straight back again). As I teenager I started off with what cheap gel I could lay my hands on. If you could imagine I may have been able to pic locks with it when it first set. I've used a lot of things since though. Brylcreem (as in the original cream) is fairly decent, but they also did a wax in shoe polish tins about 20 years ago that I used a lot. Sadly they changed the packaging and the formula too, so I shifted to using Yardley's Olde English Brilliantine/pommade. That's okay to be honest, but I still use some hair creams too, especially in hot climates when something like a pommade or wax will simply melt, my hair will go limp, and the pommade/wax migrate onto my forehead...which isn't a good look.
I use the British "Dear Barber" products and I am really happy with them. Sometimes I also use the "Murrays Superior" Pomade from the US and I think both are very good products for thick hair. Greetings from Germany!!!
Tres flores water base pomade is the best! You should really check It out I’ve recommended it to you several times. It seems like it would work well for your hair as it is practically like a gel but it won’t harden as hard or get flakey the hoLd is very strong and the can is very cheap. Make sure you get the water base the briliantine it basically just vasaline
I'm a really big fan of the very archaic aristocratic style long hair (that you mostly only see in vampire movies these days), but growing the hair out is incredibly irritating because the hair is neither this style nor that... Do you have any good tips on how to grow your hair out, and what would be some good in-between styles that works better towards a gentleman style than an 80's rock-star?
Great videos Mr. Sven-I hope you keep them coming. Shouldn't gentlemen wear a neat moustache? Think that it would be good if you would set an example and grow one -for the style. Do hope you will consider?
The only problem with having your barber style your hair in order to try the product is they usually set your hair with the hair dryer first before applying products. I guess you can ask them to not do that but just be aware that what you do before and the way you apply products also has a huge effect on the finish!
Hello, Raphael! Did you changed your hair product? I remember you shown a different, yellow one in the video about the disconnected undercut. Anyway, thank you very much for the video. I have the same type of hair like yours and you recomendations in this, as well as in previous videos about hair are really significant to me.
I recently switched from Men U matte clay ($25) to VO5 extreme style clay ($8). Personally I think it gives a better hold for just under a third of the price. Id like to try some more brands though so if anyone has suggestions for short straight thick hair send them my way.
I like this Channel very much but now I have to disagree. IMO one has the wrong haircut if one needs more than shampoo and a comb or hairbrush for a neat look.
Agreed. If you don't use pomades you're just not vintage enough. First determine which hair type you are and then what style and texture you want, and then buy some pomade anyway.
its 2023 and sadly everything seems to becoming politicized like in the Cold War times. Mainstream online or corporate sites and organizations can potentially be biased simply based on region and countrys foreign policies. For example, Russian or Chinese high level products could be marked with bad ratings just for being the competetor products against teh western products. The vice verse could happen in the east as well.
