Alek, thanks for the simple shirt niche information without an affiliate link for one of those expensive tools. I realize everyone needs to make a living (well unless you win the lottery) but it is disappointing to see "the best tool for XYZ" and then in two weeks they are pimping a different "best tool". Thanks for your work.

You're one of the only people I've seen saying to find multiple niches, which I appreciate. POD newbie here, selling mostly t-shirts and wall art along with some other home goods (mugs, blankets, etc). My question is this: Should I start an entirely new store for wall art? I hear that niching down helps Etsy know where to advertise more effectively which seems like it could make sense. My store is still newer with minimal (50-ish) sales and it feels like I could easily start over again if it would make sense to keep certain items separated. Any advice is greatly appreciated, and thanks for another great vid!

I would like to know this as well!! He did say it was better to niche into one type of product for various interest groups, so I imagine selling tshirts and totes on my digital printables store wouldn't really make sense. Multiple stores multiplies the work though so I'm nervous haha

I'm a total newbie to this and your videos have ben brilliant to watch. One thing I'm still not sure if I'm 100% clear on is the printing and fulfilment of the shirts. You design and list them on Etsy but when someone buys a tshirt is this automatically telling a store like Printify "print this tshirt with this design and deliver it to x address" ? So Etsy isn't actually the market place it's sort of like a catalogue almost?

hi. thanks for all the inspiration and work you put in your videos. my biggest question for e.g. Tshirts Print on demand - how to handle returns? (for example, wrong size, not happy with color or print). as i understand it, the returns end up with me and i refund the amount. is it wiser to exclude returns - how does that affect the perception of my store? and/or is that subject to legal requirements? thanks for your advice - and did you cover this subject in a video? @alek
@alekSheffy
@alekSheffy Год назад
You get to decide the policy you offer. You don't HAVE to accept returns/exchanges but if you don't, you should offer a replacement item for just the product + shipping costs. Other wise just offer the returns because more people will be comfortable ordering with you

Hey Alek, thank you for your videos, can I just check, is it ok to list LOTS of shirts with the same title and tags, I'm identifying niches and making lots of variables of similar designs, researching my own title/keywords and then using those titles over and over, I can't imagine making a new set of keywords for EVERY shirt....am I on the right lines here? Thank you in advance. x
@alekSheffy
@alekSheffy Год назад
I would modify each title and tags slightly if you can. I would just shuffle around the keywords and upload shirts in batches. If you make football shirts, upload all of your football designs at once, and then you'll only need to find the title and tags once and shuffle them around in each listing to make new combinations!

Some of the shop examples you showed toward the beginning look like they are just using the same simple mockup of just the shirt on a hanger, etc. Have you found this to be true on a lot of the best selling shops? I know a lot of people say model mockups work better as a first listing photo, but I have found many shops that just use a flat lay. Have you found this to be true as well? Is the whole "model mockup on Etsy" just a bunch of hype?

Its probably because they're using a trick were they have a baby sized tshirt which costs less be in the listing and because etsy always shows the cheapest possible variant you can buy of that listing it says 10€ and maybe they charge large shipping fees. You understand?

Im still think there's a combination of things, not only the design. You need a nice design, of course BUT: You need a good price, you need a short time of delivery, you need a excelent description, and probably run ads also. And not only that, you need to spend quite long on the description and setup for each listing, wich doesnt let you upload that many listings you wish. Im thinking on create an app or extension Who gives you the oportunisty to multiupload listings. Let's say you create 20 different designs for the sale niche and you know all of them its gonna have the same setup and description ..you have to do One by One... Its gonna be great to have a tool that allow you to do 20 listings (for example( with the same setup for all at the same time togheter... Maybe that tool or extensión already exist and I didnt find It...but if not, I THINK its a great idea ..

@blackkitt98
@blackkitt98 Год назад
That is the down side. But if you listed just one design every day for a month that's only $6. And by the 30th day you will probably have had at least one sale, then you're on your way. Don't worry about low profit at first. Keep prices low to try to gain traction. You can raise your prices once you're making consistent sales. (And for sure it's better to list one every day than to do 30 at once. The cost is the same but Etsy, like most marketplaces, reward activity.)
