How is M= 2 ?

Because 9-1/2-(-2) becomes 9-1/2+2 (it became + because there are two negatives). So, 9-1/2+2 = 8/4. and then 8/4 or 8 divided by 4 is 2. so therefore, m=2 Clear?

@@Adamcb8 Nothing is easy until you know how it's done. To remember a formula after e.g. 20+ years is also not easy. I can absolutely guarantee you that if you ask ten, or a hundred thousand people to find the equation as in this video on a piece of paper, not too many would remember it even they excelled at math many years earlier. Many would fail even if they passed an exam 2 weeks earlier. That's reality.

Faster way to do this is to find m and then put it in y=mx+b then put x and y from one of the given points then solve the simple equation to find b

Can someone help me with these two points (4,-6)(6,3) I found the slope -9/-2 but when using point (6,3) I get 3=-9/-2(6) +b I am having difficulty with making -9/-2 positive because the answer says it is y=9/2x-24
