For anyone having trouble with the standard deviation, she forgot to add another zero so for the first one it should be 0.007611 and the second one should actually be 0.00946. Try to square root these numbers and you should get the answers, hope this helps.

The standard deviation is the volatility of the stock and not the risk. Risk is something completely different and is a complicated subject, since there are many ways to ”measure” it. People confuse risk with volatility all the time and this video just adds to it…

Nice content. Adding to that i suggest that to make good profits from your investments you have to use a perfect portfolio to hold stocks, bonds, cash and more. People tend to blow up money buying the wrong stocks that why getting a Portfolio Executive to assist you in creating a great portfolio is also helpful

Correction: Sq root of 0.07611 will give you 0.2759........add one more Zero after the decimal gives you the correct SD which is 0.087 or 8.7%. same with Stock B

when calculating the variance you forgot to add a zero. for return A its actually 0.007611

I don't understand how you can have a finite percentage for a specific percentage return for a stock. The probability of a particular return is equal to the range of normal distribution probability curve multiplied by an infinitely thin, or discrete value. It would seem like the probability of any discrete percent return would be 0%.

how do u calculate the expected rate of return without probablities. say the amount invested is 125000, the expected market return is 7.5 , the risk free rate is 3 .
