Dimensional Analysis Explained
The study of the relationship between physical quantities with the help of dimensions and units of measurement is termed dimensional analysis. Dimensional analysis is essential because it keeps the units the same, helping us perform mathematical calculations smoothly.
What are the rules of dimensional analysis?
1) two physical quantities can only be equated if they have the same dimensions
2) two physical quantities can only be added if they have the same dimensions
3) the dimensions of the multiplication of two quantities is given by the multiplication of the dimensions of the two quantities.
