how to find the x-intercept of line from a table. i was solving it first i find the y-intercept after that i put the y-intercept into the slope intercept form and the i try to find the x-intercept but i was getting a wrong answer the slope intercept form is like this y= -11/19x-55.

To find the y-intercept, set x = 0 and solve for y and vice versa. In my opinion if you wanna understand it easier you can change the form of the equation from y = mx + b to x + y = 0 (0 being the variable, -3 in the video) then in this form you would have -1/2x + y = -3 and you could just replace x or y with 0 and find out the other. He did the same thing in y = mx + b form in the video. As to why? that's just the formula to find intercepts, you just replace the other intercept with 0 to find the one you want to find in an equation.

psa if ur british (idk about other countries sorry) but we say y=mx+c instead, so the y intercept is written as c not b, just in case ur confused as they use b in this video. hope that makes sense

Y=mx+b(or c depending on where you learn). Y stands for the Y line. M stands for the slope, x stands for the x line and b(c) stands for y-intercept, by default b(c) solves half the basic equations when trying to plot a graph. Since it gives you a starting point, what you need to do next is either use the slope(M) which in this case is 2 to increase by 2 or you could substitute y with 0 and find the x intercept(point where the graph passes through the x line) then connect those 2 intercepts to form a straight line

I’m pretty sure there’s a trick for finding the X intercept if an equation is in y = mx+b format. You can do b divided by m in parentheses times -1, hopes this trick helps if you wanna do some speed maths!
