As an artist, I spent many years struggling to find a style that I could call my own. In this video, I talk about my journey as an artist and what made me realize that I shouldn't be trying to find my art style.
Your art style is something that will develop naturally over time, learning how to enjoy the process is what I believe to be one of the key components to ones style.

One of the reasons I quit drawing for so long is because I kept trying to chase an ideal look for my art and I burnt myself out, eventually not even enjoying picking pencil or pen up to draw . Took me a while but when I came back to it I just let loose and draw whatever, it dosen't even need to be cohesive all I chase is the joy of putting lines on paper and its fantastic.

That’s great to hear! If you can’t enjoy the process, it’s hard to make progress.

One tip I would recommend for newer artists is not to be afraid to take what you like from other artists and directly incorporate it into your style. There’s a difference between liking the way an artist draws eyes for example and grabbing the drawing and tracing it and passing it off as your own. There is also a benefit to tracing as you are able to go step by step and make your own connections to how an artist does something. Just as long as you don’t present the traced art as original and continue to take ideas from multiple sources you should be good to go.

I agree, combining multiple sources of inspiration is one of the best ways to work on your creativity in my opinion!

Love your artwork!. Not sure if you are interested in NFTs but would love to connect you to some awesome folks. I'm sure they would appreciate your art as much as I do. No strings attached.

Maybe: don‘t expect everything you do to be a masterpiece. And don‘t expect others to feel the same way about your works as you do, good or bad.
