I feel the same, currently not really bothering to find the best sensitivity for games as it's just time consuming and alot of variables on the day. (hunger, sleep, etc) I've played alot of shooters in the past and 34cm just feels a good middle ground for me as it's fast enough for high mobility games and alright for slower titles.

I think building fundamentals is important and progresswill be much faster if u play on the extremes. Once you have the fundamentals down (smooth tracking at fast sens, flicks at low sens for example) then you can work on finding a comfortable middle ground and work it out there.@@ryzen2514

I have played for 6 years in a shooter game and what i discovered is that i played on a slower sensitivity for many years at first and i got used to it. But then i decided to change it because i felt like i was slow...i made it a bit higher and then i played with it...at first i was missing some shots but then i got used it just like the one before.... So i realized i got used to both sensitvities and when i went back to my older sens i found it feeling like it is slow...that means i got used to my new sensitivity over time even though i got used to the older one as well before that. (I was a sniper main...and tracking was hard with high sensitivies because of the recoil most likely)

One thing that I think is seriously overlooked when it comes to aiming sensitivity in games is the movement speed of you character. When i'm rounding a corner in CS:GO and Apex Legends and pre aim because i know what will be there, it will feel vastly different because the characters in the games move different.

FOV does plays a part but movement acceleration and speed do impact aim. Also, Apex's FOV slider scales from a 4:5 screen ratio. This means that 110 FOV on the Apex scale translates to around 124.6 FOV on a modern 16:9 monitor. CS:GO is scaled by 4:5 as well. CS:GO native fov is 90 scaled from 4:5, which is around 106.3 scaled to 16:9. The difference between those fovs are pretty massive tho. @@alexanderhyla8122

it all depends on the range and situation, this is why many overthink this if a target is closer your sens will feel slower, if a target is farther your sens will feel faster it's all about setting something that works for your playstyle, if you like pushing and getting in the face of your enemy use something faster and set this sens in that range, if you're not comfortable pushing just set your sens to something slower and set it for that range, now you can find the middle ground/hybrid or you can be powerful in one range and a bit worse in the other it's all about leaving it and playing a lot, this will give you good mouse control, once you get used to it

there are many factors too such as mouse grip, hand and finger size/length, and mouse shape/size. I use a small mouse with a fingertip grip and have done numerous tests and only gotten comfortable with a higher sens than average. I did have a lower sens era, but I never got to utilize the strength of the fingertip grip as I always had to microadjust with my arm rather than fingers/wrist. I would argue that the more contact points you have to the mouse, the more beneficial lower sensitivity would be. Preference wins overall though, everyone's different.
@smule.
@smule. Год назад
@The Normal Gamer I only use the fingers for microadjustments, not for a lot of vertical aim, so I still use my arm to aim most of the time. I've tried claw grip, and it would probably be better in the long run if I could get used to it, but it doesn't fit my aiming style.

It's so clear that the methods you mentioned are the best & the fastest route to reach the end sens. Does the length of my forearm also affect what my potential sense would be? For example, if you are flicking in one direction, and pivot at the elbow say 20 degrees, someone with a longer fore-arm would have the mouse move a greater total distance than someone with a smaller forearm. Have you ever thought about this?

So glad you mentioned this. It was one of the chapters I cut out of the video to keep it more concise. It is absolutely the case. While it doesn't matter too much for finding your own sensitivity in a vacuum, it's certainly worth considering when comparing players or comparing yourself to averages.

@TechSupportDave
@TechSupportDave 11 месяцев назад
That's fine, but it's important to not get TOO lazy with it. Aiming should never be "easy", it should always require some degree of effort. For this reason, setting yourself a too high sensitivity just because you don't like moving your arm around may in fact affect your performance negatively. It's STRONGLY recommended you DON'T go below 20cm/360, and IDEALLY stay above 30cm/360. It will depend slightly on the game, but it's very easy to reach that "unnecessary" point. A good rule of thumb is to at the very least make sure that you're not under-utilising your wrist because of your sens being so high that you don't even have to flex it to do a 360. That's when for 99.99% of people it becomes "ridiculous" territory, and for a good and obvious reason - we're not machines, so needing to make such precise movements is simply not practical or needed in the slightest, and is 99.99% likely to simply harm your gameplay.

My biggest problem is that I run 4k, with windows scaling, and it throws everything off when I'm used to XXX sensitivity on the desktop. I'm also generally a higher sensitivity user since I grew up in the early days of gaming when mice were big and heavy, so now I have carpal tunnel. I find strict aim training to be quite a chore (it annoys me... like nails on a chalk board annoying). I think a lot of these guides out there don't focus enough on getting your ideal DESKTOP sensitivity on top of in-game settings, and a lot of the aim guides focus too much on games that aim with crosshair only (no ADS/Iron Sights). For example, my preferred FPS game right now is Hunt Showdown, and going between a gun lowered state, to hipfire, to ADS/Irons is 3 different settings. playing with something like 40cm/360 at a lowered state is fucking awful, as when you go to hipfire, its now like 60cm/360, and when you ADS it is then 80cm/360. So where are you setting your cm/360? ADS? Hipfire? Where are you setting your DPI? What about windows scaling (it does effect mouse speed, especially in game menu's and on desktop)? how do you then compensate for larger monitors and higher resolutions like 1440p and 4k?

Hey dude watched this before and think you might have the same postural issue i have. Im basing this off of the over head view and how you set up to your desk. Its not a "we position the same so are the same" little thought assumption. In fact my position has my left arm angled kind of inward at the elbow joint and the same for my right. However logical thinking dictates the way you position yourself to be better in terms of accomadating the postural issue. Anyway the reason i think you share the same postural issue is you appear to angle your torso slightly to the left, yet your upper body appears to be twisted slightly to the right. This essentially pulls the right shoulder in an arc backwards leaving it further away from the desk. You have then chosen to angle the arm further out so arm movements are less restricted by your own ribcage and it probably helps flatten out the forearm into full pronation, since with the shoulder relatively twisted to round too the right and therefore slightly backward its harder to maintain forearm pronation. (try it out pull your shoulder back and round and keep your arm angled straight forward. And try to maintain a flat palm down hand. Its possible is straining and unnatural feeling). The solutions are to either extend the arm forward away from the body or rotate the arm outward away from your body. You seem to have chosen the latter for your own comfort and it seems to work for you (wish it worked for me too 😢) Anyway the issue im talking about is a twisted pelvis. Specifically a left twisted pelvis in which your right side of the pelvis is rotated both in towards the body midline and down and the left can either be neutral or like mine is rotated left further away from the midline and up. This is theoretical obviously with evidence based ln awkward camera angle imagery so it may be entirely incorrect so if you think it might be correct look through the following statements and see if they apply to you. If you have a left twisted pelvis: You may have some stability issues when walking which may be accompanied by achiness anywhere from the glutes down to the feet. You may notice that when standing still your right foot ends up positioned slightly further forward than the left and will likely be more externally rotated (foot twisted outwards) whilst the left leg may ne more twisted inward. In my case i feel like my left leg as a whole is further in ao it is closer to the midline of the body and my right leg feels further away. This is because the pelvic twist causes a functional leg length discrepancy. Your left side specifically the outside muscles like the left oblique muscle may feel tight or a bit sore due to overworking to stop you from to far forward and to your left. Your ight side might feel loose/ underworked or simply normal. The upper back then has to compensate so that your not turned to the left and are facing forward. It does this by twisting to the right in opposition to the pelvis. This can make left chest and shoulder muscles tight and right upper back and trap muscles tight. You may feel like the pressure on your butt is uneven when sitting down and that your left butt bone feels lower down than your right. You may get aches and pain in your lower back but you will almost certainly feel like your lower back is tight and stiff. Like me you may look into the issue and the first things that seem relevant are some form of pelvic tilt but the recommendations or exercises for the corrisponding conditions seem to only help a little or not help at all. You may feel like your left arm is easier to position deeper onto your desk and is more comfortable than the right arm when angled inwards towards you. Right arm feels less comfortable further onto the desk possibly making the arm to desk contact feel unstable and leaving you feeling like you should be able to have your arm deeper on the desk but its not comfortable or maintainable. Here are a few tests that might help if you think you do have a pelvic torsion after reading this. Can you twist your entire torso at the waist further and comparably more easily to the left than to the right. Is it easier to shift your weight onto the outside of your left hip than it is to the right. (Leg goes in hip goes out whilst standing relatively straight up) Do you feel like you put more weight onto your left leg. This may be acompanied by either wrapping the right calf over the left shin like i do or some other right leg alignment that effectively lowers the weight put on the right leg further down by effectively shortening the legs length. Love your videos btw.

I really struggle with fast pace games like CoD where I have to move quickly inside buildings etc. I use 30cm/360 and often find myself either no mousepad room and forget to recentre and get lazy. I use a artisan zero or SkyPad so not exactly small pads either. I need help for sure just don’t know what to do. Someone help me please !

I play with a small.mouse. A laptop mouse. With a 1000dpi . But i use claw grip sort like. Its more a spider grip. I use thump and my ringfinger to move the mouse around. So reason i use a real small mouse for it. I do not see people use it really.

So confusing how you are adjusting your mouse sensitivity (hip aim) but you’re doing aim demonstrations while ADS. ADS and the Hipfire aim are two different settings, no?

dont overthink it. just pick a random one. i play on 8.3cm/360 and everyone tells me it's too fast but i still have better aim than them. pick pretty much anything

How I did it: Jump. Do a 180 with one flick. If this doesn't work change sens until it works. Now it's about 61 on OW2 (1k dpi)

When I was between 12 and 15 years old and was able to play 5-7 hours a day CS, I never changed my mouse or the sensitivity and that’s what all this bs here is all about. Never change a running system!!!

My biggest problem is the confirmation "if i shoot now would hit it" and because of that i click to late. Overall i have problems with clicking fast enough even if i flick react with no confirmation. I feel like im very often on the head but my click comes to late and now its a miss. Any ideas how to train that, or do i just need to learn somehow to trust my aim more ? if so any idea on how to do that ^^?

I use 800dpi 1.3 in game for Apex, thats my sweet spot, i have days when i both over aim and under aim, but there's a human factor to this, its not all about sens, some of us will never be perfect.

so here i am thinking... playing tarkov with a sens of .3 and ads .32 (roughly 30cm/360). now the sens sure is good and all but never really tried to find the perfect sens. in tarkov there are things that affects your sensitivity alot so it kinda forces you to play with higher sens to combat and move in battle.. sure i could put my hipfire sens to somewhere like 25cm/360 and have my ads sens on 30-40cm/360 but is it really good for your aim?

when I aim to the left: I overaim when I aim to the right: I underaim when I change my sens: perfect aim once I get used to it: constatly overaim

51 is considered very low? its crazy, after using 80cm for some time(in cs), it doesnt feel low at all. At the same time tho, when i play hunt im at about 32 cm and it doesnt feel fast :D
@Iota22

To sum up this 9 minute video all you need to do to find your perfect sensitivity is to do flicks with different sensitivities until you have a subconscious notion with a sensitivity of how far your hand wants to move to get your crosshair to it.

none of these games would be a somewhat difficult game if you could cheese the very mechanic that would make any of them. obviously just the recoil, what no one wants to mention for some reason is that games in the pc space are very biased , your whole rig and specs go into being a better player simply because you have an advantage. Now add the fact not everyone looks at the main aspect of all of these games, the recoil. You could have the best aim in the world, but if you can't keep the cursor still while shooting it doesn't matter does it. This is why low dpi is essentially ,based off how the game is coded, quite broken as it allows for microadjustments without a high margin for error where as if you use a high dpi recoil will basically make any small adjustment absolutely destroy your tracking. This person in the video has a lower sense, his adjustments didnt mess with his tracking at all during the full auto firing of the gun which makes it look like it has aim assist(ill get to that later) , but at a higher dpi this becomes impossible to do. So if you want any chance at actually being good in terms of fps games, low dpi is most definitely at the advantage. Now when I said aim assist, I meant how controllers slow your aim down near a target. Controllers by default will be a lower sense than something you could use your hand to move instead of an analog that naturally depends on your thumbs. Controllers make up all the 40 plus kill games you see in warzone. Why? because low sense is undeniably the only way you would ever be able to replicate a controller which IS UNBEATABLE! its like watching pc players play against controller in games like apex. It's obvious low sensitivity is how these games were designed to use. Higher sensitivity will always lose unless you are computer that could make the adjustments without physically moving a mouse at high dpi, but through numerical inputs.

you mean low dpi like 400-800 or you mean EDPI which means low ingame sens + n-dpi?
@encephalon3563
@encephalon3563 Год назад
@naturalselection2251 it could be a combination of both, alot of pubg players have 800 dpi and at a default of 50 in game sense they go as low as the 30's ,20's meaning their EDPI is alot lower.
