Lucinda looks stunning in that green. She could be a soft summer, which would explain why she was an autumn before. They say soft summer's sister season is soft autumn. They have the softness in common and can borrow some shades from each other. Sarah could be a warm autumn. She's not a dark or deep autumn for sure. Soft, I don't know. Good show!

You are too kind and I do love that color, but the off the shoulder nature of the top made me feel fully comfortable with it, if it were a turtleneck- I'm not so sure it would be flattering. For anyone who likes it, its from Anthropologie. And this will make you laugh, they have it in an intense pink. I bought that one too. Because its so far from my face I can throw caution to the wind.

As a light summer with some skin redness, I find that almost any green (complementary hue to red) accentuates the redness except the bluest of aquamarine/turquoise. 🐬

Can I ask, Lucinda, if you used to be Autumn but have now softened,why are you not a soft autumn?
@ColorClassInc
@ColorClassInc 4 месяца назад
You may certainly ask- the thing that changed my season is not that I softened but that I lost my color intensity. I paled and desaturated (sounds painful) haha. Just imagine an Instagram filter that sucks some of the color out of a photo. That was me. And let me add a point for everyone, in the UK they use a six palette system- which frankly I like more than the four seasons because more people fit. You may already know this, so forgive me but I want to share this with everyone- their six "seasons" are Warm, Cool, Light, Deep, Clear and Soft. They call it DOMINANT characteristics so its the characteristic that strikes you most about a person. We are going to do a show on the six characteristics. We want you ladies to have options. :D

@@ColorClassInc thank you for your answer. I did notice as my Mum got older she went more white and pink and her colouring was more delicate. I do think she was cool, though. Just maybe a cool olive. I look like her. I have that same yellow overtone. I had my colour done in person on Saturday. I’m a Winter! I didn’t think I had the contrast but I don’t think I see myself well at all. I turned up wearing my colours without even knowing it apparently 😄 I don’t know if I’m a bright winter as she just used the 4 seasons. I’ll be very interested to see the video on 6 characteristics.
@trishagoodwin4069
@trishagoodwin4069 4 месяца назад
Actually, here in the UK, we use both seasonal analysis and tonal, that is what the dominant characteristic method is called - Tonal, not seasonal! It depends on which analyst you see, some use one method, some the other and some can use both on you!@@ColorClassInc

Color influences the perception of everything around it, which would suggest, since hair has a color to it, that it would influence the perception of colors around it (skin and eyes). I’m in the color analysis camp that strongly considers hair color when deciding someone’s best colors. I will use myself for example, I’ve been type a Warm Spring (by Carol Brailey). I thinks she’s correct in that my skin looks smoother in warm colors. The problem I’ve encountered is my hair, as of today, is naturally a very ashy light brown and I’m about 40% gray. My hair around the age of 20 used to be a warmer light brown. My pallet does not have a single gray color, not even a warm gray. All of my neutrals are golden browns, tans, and beiges, none of which harmonize with my hair. I no longer want to dye my hair anymore, it’s time consuming, expensive, and it never looks right (natural). So anyways, my view point on all this, is one really does need to consider current hair color when deciding which color pallet to use, otherwise your head wont match your body.
@ColorClassInc

We are in the same camp. Soon we will be doing a video that clearly demonstrates how only hair color can completely change a season! Stay tuned!

And can winters ever pull off orange or yellow?
@MaryYoungblood-xy8vg
@MaryYoungblood-xy8vg 5 месяцев назад
@@Essieebearr Winter can sometimes pull off yellow. Has to be a very cool yellow (leans toward green) and bright (like an acid lemon.) Warm yellows will make your skin look sallow and for olive skin types will make the skin look green. Warm yellow is primary or leans orange. There are zero options for orange in the winter palette. There is no way to cool off orange without making muddy grays since orange and blue are opposites on the color wheel. Orange isn't flattering on winters. If indeed you are a deep winter (share border with autumn) you can borrow some of her orangy browns because of the depth (more important that your colors be deep than they be cool or clear). That is the best I can do for you for orange.
@MaryYoungblood-xy8vg
@MaryYoungblood-xy8vg 5 месяцев назад
Blue is easy for deep winter. As a winter you have blue undertones so blue is in your wheelhouse. Your best blues will be clear and deep. Think royal blue, deep cobalt blue and navy. Pink is a little tricky. Pinks are too light for the deep winter palette. Really you are in the burgundy reds and dark berries for your "pinks".
@ColorClassInc
@ColorClassInc 4 месяца назад
@@Essieebearr - there is a yellows that winters can wear, its a greenish lemon yellow. Imagine a barely ripe lemon, sort of a light acid yellow. Mostly because it plays up the Winter contrast with a pop. When yellow moves toward orange- its just too warm for bold winters.

@@johannac5653 Let's think about it this way. When the auburn pigment disappeared from my hair, I became less warm. I don't put too much emphasis on my skintone because I am neutral in tone. And my eyes are bluish, greenish, grayish, again neutral. So when someone whose warmth came from her red hair, and she looses all that pigment, what happens? I became a cooler version of myself.

@@ColorClassInc Yes, I think I was confused because there's so many systems that say different things. The COOLEST colors from winter palette (picture from minute 5.56) are the first 2 colors from winter DEEP. (first 2 from the left) (#1F6753 and #196045) They have the most percentage of BLUE from all the winter colors mentioned. They are closer to BLUE than any other color in winter palette. I think this too, maybe, if she was soft autumn before, it can happen, but if she looked like Sara before, I don't think so. They wanted to tell us Sara is soft autumn, but I'm not sure. She looks warm to me. Hard to tell on the monitor, she can be warm autumn, but she can be warm spring too. But I think, it's about the system, they use. I like more advanced systems with 16 and more categories.

Joan we love varying opinions on this channel, so I applaud you for speaking up. It's how we will all become more knowledgable. If I may, let me tell you a story.I was a soft autumn and wearing that palette- though I flowed a little toward spring. Loved me some coral. But as I aged I, I just didnt like the way I looked. I thought- oh well- just getting older. My skin had gone ligher and cooler. My eyes which were once the exact color of my daughter's (Sara) went grayer also. So I did some research about the loss of melanocytes as we age- not just in our hair but in our skin. They didn't mention eye color, but I was diagnosed with cataracts. But here's the thing- I switched to wearing summer colors and all of a sudden I started getting compliments again, starting feeling better about myself and felt like I could look old age squarely in the eye and say - COME GET ME!! And as we all know- feeling great in your colors is most important.

Sarah is Warm Autumn. She's not at all "soft". Eyes say Soft Autumn, however her hair and skin have more clarity. As she ages she'll probably spend plenty of time as a Soft Autumn.

I totally see where you are coming from, and obviously she can wear some of the warm autumn palette, BUT from a sheer math standpoint, more of her flattering colors are in the soft autumn palette than the warm autumn. Here's a fun way to look at it- take a look at photos of Rita Hayworth. We did a video on Icons of Hollywood, then look at Sara next to her- I think you will see why she can wear more soft colors.
