Wow! What a wonderful tutorial! My blocks always seem to have a party between the design board and the machine, so this really helps! Love the demo on basting and quilting, too. Great tips! The quilt is gorgeous!

I’ve been quilting for over 30 years and still very much enjoyed watching you explain steps so clearly. Especially moving squares from quilt wall to machine to make rows. Thanks so much!!

I love it when you show your process from start to finish. I don't have any issues making a quilt top but getting it ready to quilt is an issue for me so seeing how other people prepare their quilts for quilting is fantastic for me. I already have your first Quiltlock ruler. I use painter's tape to mark my quilt and then your ruler to help me stay straight My old eyes and hands do not sew as steady as they used to.

I'm so glad to hear that you find the process helpful! Preparing quilts can be tricky, but with the right tools and techniques, it becomes much easier. Keep up the great work!

Loving your tutorials!!! I use a walking foot when doing straight line quilting. Because it feeds the top and bottom evenly, it is easier for me to stitch.
@sewbeitquilts

I use my walking foot sometimes too. Usually with larger quilts I know I will need to make the switch. With this smaller quilt I did a good job pressing seams and basting it. I knew it wasn’t necessary to switch the feet.

I’m a spray baster. And I do it on the floor or go over to my church & set up a few tables. That’s definitely easier! I quilt it on my embroidery machine.

It sounds like you've found a great system that works for you! Setting up at your church must make the process even more enjoyable.

Lovely quilt! Love the idea of the clamps. Hadn't thought of that. I always hand baste my quilts which works best with my sewing machine, but it takes a little longer to do.
@sewbeitquilts
@sewbeitquilts 19 дней назад
I have never tried hand basting but I can see how it would work really well since you will have so much control with smoothing and making sure everything is laying flat and even.

Love your idea of using the small design boards to keep rows in order. I had to move my sewing area up from the basement, but my design wall is still attached to the wall (with many rolls of Gorilla tape). Just another, “ why didn’t I think of that?” BTW, I still love your new haircut!
@sewbeitquilts
@sewbeitquilts 19 дней назад
Oh no! That sounds like it will be a pain to move! That gorilla tape is so strong!

@@sewbeitquilts That’s why I loved your design board ideas. I can use the design boards to carry the rows back up from the basement to sew.

34:10 Great Idea👍 👌 👍!!! I do this but usually in columns because I Web. Your table method is WONDERFUL as this is where I struggle. I am so going to do this. 🎶💐💖

Great tips for keeping things in order! I like to glue baste with Elmers School Glue. I've also used wash away 1/4' quilting tape in the fiddly spots (like Wondertape but cheaper from Amazon) .

I love your videos! Thank you for my order. I hope to order more when I can. I’m 70 and I like your tools keep my fingers away from the rotary blade. I can piece but I’m not much of quilter. Most the things I made in the past were tied. What is the name of the ruler you were using.

Glad you like them! Tying your quilts is a great way to finish your quilts so you can move on to making a new quilt! I used our Quilt-lock to finish this quilt.
