ABOUT ME:
Thanks for visiting my channel, I hope you enjoyed the video! I founded Caterpillar Cross Stitch in 2015 when I tried desperately for months to find a modern baby sampler my mum could stitch for new baby Felicity that would fit in with her simple, contemporary nursery. I love cross stitch, running, baking fruit cakes, drinking gin, eating salted caramel ice cream and most crafts!
See you soon and happy stitching! Sally x

It is so helpful to see these “how to” videos…..for those of us who love to cross stitch…..at age 71 I have really enjoyed the “Smalls” projects as ways to use leftover stash….as sometimes the fingers and the brain love to see something accomplished sooner than a long project…..

Thank you so much for watching Sherry - and for your lovely comment 😊 I am so glad to hear you liked the video. I agree, stitching a small project is so satisfying, I swap between big projects and small so that I get the satisfaction of a fully finished object 😊 Happy stitching 🌸 Marie

Interesting but I would of put the wrong sides of the covered mount board together and so the back of the whole piece would also be pretty (more so if it’s a gift). I’m definitely going to try the modified version. Thank you 😊

Thank you so much for watching and for your suggestion - that would work really well too! I personally wouldn't like to see the glued folded corners from the front - if that was bothering you at all too, you could always prepare 2 backing pieces and attach the 'wrong' sides together so you can see fabric covered from the front and the back. Hope you love finishing your project and happy stitching 🌸 Marie

There's a pen marker for specifically for marking on linen / aida clothes. It's washable and come with many color. I used to marked my aida clothes for my cross-stitch project. Nowadays crosstitch came with pre-stamp aida clothes.

Hi Kath, thanks so much for watching 😊 this tape is called ‘Stitchery Tape’ and I get mine on 123stitch.com. It’s acid and solvent free so it’s perfect for needlework as it won’t discolour it over time 😊 Happy stitching 🌸 Marie

Am wondering how wide the stitchery tape is that you use? I have seen several different widths. Thank you.

Hi Stephanie, I’m using Stitchery Tape - 60' Roll from 123stitch: www.123stitch.com/en-gb/item/Yarn-Tree-Stitchery-Tape-30-Roll/123-2494 I however tend to just cut thin strips and line the back with it so I’m not sure that the width hugely matters 😊 Hope this helps! Happy stitching 🌸 Marie

Far too many items are needed to do this! If you are on a budget just buy cheap fleece blankets. Cut out the size you require for your stitching. I wash my completed piece of aida first. Then I turn under an edge and sew to the fleece and repeat for all sides. Then turn over the top leaving a space so you can feed a stick through free from your local woodland. I then add a piece of string tied at each end and use for hanging job done!
