So for the purpose of conversation, I would be curious to see if you set up a group of geckos with a regular led or regular non-uv light the same way, will the same result be achieved? I wonder this because it is my understanding that most polyethylene (plastics) can and would block most wavelengths of UV light.

We’ve tried both methods and the UVB made a significant difference, specifically for some harder-to-fire geckos. Regular light works, but not as well and as quickly as the UVB. There’s definitely some getting through for sure.
