Perfect, exactly what I wanted to hear! I have a 4 year old, baby and a golden retriever. Just ordered the M3 as our family car

I would take 10 to 1 odds that the vast majority of commenters freaking out about the seat belt extenders do not have three or more kids. Just because the car seat companies did not spend the obscene amounts of money necessary to replicate certification testing with extenders installed or a spill sheet under the car seat does not mean they are unsafe.

Thanks for the information but sadly this would never fly in Canada: extenders are not authorized and you need some space between seats, too many injuries and deaths with the domino effect of side impacts with chained car seats.

Most car seats don’t allow for seat protectors , The ones that do make and only crash test with their own. Same thing goes for those extenders.

Seat covers are not allowed for many car seat models, check your car seat manual before adding ANYTHING to your vehicle or car seat.

I really like your style of video (really liked your sticker application video)! I totally understand the difficulty of installing carseats in the 3 as I've installed a ton in ours. I would like to suggest that even though that back seat cover seems like a great way to keep those beautiful white seats clean (I'm ordering them when I replace my X), it affects the installation of the carseats as well as the friction between the carseat and the vehicle seat. The buckle extender is also prohibited by carseat manufacturers as it changes the location the buckle lays within the booster seat/carseat belt path. It doesn't matter who the manufacturer is of the extender-they're all prohibited.

Seat belt extenders are NOT safe Mats under car seats are generally NOT safe... I’m not a certified car seat technician but as an average concerned mother a lot of the information you give in regards to car seats is unsafe. - belt extenders are NOT safe to use with car seats - anything under your car seat like that great may you bought are rarely safe. You must read your carseat manual - some car seats allow only certain things under them (sometimes a thin towel or a brand approves mat) this is seat by seat and anything generic is most likely unsafe. - the Tesla is also tricky in regards to what seats fit well - especially 3 across as squishing them in anyway they fit is most likely not safe. I’ve never successfully fit 3 across in any car so not certain if your install is safe. Reading the comments a lot of people seem to think the video has good safe advice to follow but I’d strongly recommend seeking expert advice in regards to your car seats to keep your kids as safe as the car! Car Seats for the Littles is a great source . The Car Seat Lady also has helpful info specific to Tesla!

Seatbelt extenders are NOT SAFE with car seats! You should revise this video for others’ safety and also as I’m sure you don’t want to be liable giving this incorrect advice.

I'm under the impression that seat belt extenders aren't approved by the car seat companies since they aren't crash tested

Ethan Woodruff suffered permanent brain damage in a 2013 car wreck. He was buckled into his booster seat with a seat belt extender, which is unsafe.

Just so you know Seatbelts extenders and seat covers are both prohibited to use with car seats and boosters

This was not done safely unfortunately. Most car seats manufacturers do not allow mats and seat covers underneath the car seats.

What about a rear facing seat?

Useful is an understatement! 🙌🏽 Do you think i can fit 2 Booster seats and 1 infant seat?? i just ordered the M3 and not sure if it will work. my kids in boosters are 6 & 8 and we are expecting baby #3 2022.

Instead of seatbelt extenders that are not safe, get a booster with a 5point harness and seatbelt the seats in. Never touch the belts again (unless you need to remove). I use dionos in my model Y

I’ve purchased a couple seat beat extender that was advertised for the Model 3. However, it did not work in the rear seat (they may work in the front seats, not sure) but they certainly didn’t work in the back. Can you confirm that the link you’ve posted for the seat belt extender actually works for the rear seat belt mechanism? Even on the website, it mention use in the “front driver and passenger” and no mention of the rear seat belts. Thanks!!

Turn off easy entry and driver profiles. You don’t want the driver seat moving on its own once your child is buckled in the back seat.

If ur tall ur driving with seat further back that can add more problems

I am not sure seat belt extenders are even legal actually at least in Europe why not using the isofix ?
