19,550 views and no comments wow!!! I worked it out. Diagram 5 is the killer. It looks like you put it on upside down. But no!!!. YOU FEED IT THROUGH. Pretty elegant really; though you would think it would stump more than a few.

He needs to lock the front roof bar end cap correctly. It is not locked into position.

This only shows fixing to a fancy slotted bar. What about fitting to a standard roof rack using the "T" bolts. IE diagrams 3-6 in the manual. I'm a fairly practical guy and I can't get it to work

Can the mounting brackets (where you attach the carrier to the roof rack) be adjusted to match the rack location? Or do the rack crossbars need to be moved to match fixed positions of the carrier brackets?

I hadn't used mine in about 5 years so had forgotten how they work (seniors moments) and to make matters worse had changed roof racks from narrow to wide with a slot down the middle. Fussed around for several hours trying to work out how the fck to install the bloody things. This vid put me on the right track thank christ. I've lost the keys, not sure if that matters...

Extra step - turn cranks so that crank will rest agaist the almost vertical support ( just in case bike loosens and tries to slipout of the adjustable jaws). For long distance travel I do extra extra step and tie the bike frame to the vertical support a with string / soft wire.

Makes it look so easy! Much easier to follow than the instruction booklet.

Great video, just got somw roof bars for my v40 then started to worry that the bike rack wouldnt fit on the volvo bars.

Might be an idea for you to slide the rubber strips back in :)
