Enjoyed the vid mate, top tip for anyone planning to do any windows is to open your front door windows slightly before starting, because if you close your door once the window is in place and create an over pressure inside the van it could move your window and potentially compromise the seal or worse your window might pop off 👌
If you are going to carpet the van inside, how will you hide it under the rubber trim If you have already put it in place? I thought you should carpet first then put the trim around the edge over the carpet to finish it off better then put the glass on. If you are not carpeting then this is okay, well done.
Better with the edits, glad you redid it, hope my comment on your Instagram was received in the spirit it was intended 😎👍🏻 That photo of the primer on the doors, did you redo these windows or is that on your to do list?
Yeah no worries man, was a bit of a bodge!! That photo was from my old T5 project. The barn door windows on the T6 were re-done earlier this week, all sorted now and as they should be!
Not trying to be negative but this is the worst window fitting video to watch. Everything has been done backwards & the windows will most likely fall out one day. The primer needs to be painted onto the bodywork, the windows are already primed & the stikoflex also need to be applied to the body & then windows pressed & wiggled into position.
Couldn't agree more, poor drilling to start with - no pilot hole & the drill on hammer action ?? Then using the jigsaw looks like he was wrestling with it. the process is there but hand skills & best practice of how to use power tools definitely aren't.
Good save on the window catch, and pleased you kept in it the video - shows us all the things to look out for and consider when I’ll be attempting this in a few weeks time!
