I forgot to mention in the video - you can test it without gluing it back together. The metal circle/dome on the back side of the PCB is the button. You can just sit it back together with a battery and double click it to test without gluing it shut.
Perfect tutorial on how to mute the Chipolo! Just out a little stip of electrical tape over the speaker where the contacts are. I muted all 4 of my Chipolo One Spots and noticed a large difference in glue between the units. Some are glued shut very much while others are quite easy to pry open.
I had this problem after changing my battery. I didn’t take mine apart like you did. What I did is spray electronic contact cleaner on the Chipolo with battery out. I sprayed it a couple of short times. I allowed it to air dry. It doesn’t leave a residue. I put my battery back in and it started working again.
@@olivercouch1651 the problem could be avoided if the put tiny springs under the pins to make it retain the correct position. The springs would keep them properly aligned.
Mine will beep and ring my phone. But when I try to ring the chipolo from my app it won't chirp unless I press down on the pizo electric thing you illustrated. I suspect one of the the two little arms is bent down like yours was.
