I just stumbled upon this video . I've got to say there is more info in this vid than than all others combined . Very direct and to the point. The one point that others are lacking is the reset/diagnostic test cycle that was explained. I would put this at the top of things to try because it does not require any tools or dismantling or removing anything. I live in Texas near the Houston area. We experience a lot of power outages which I think is what caused my heater to no longer work. After running the reset/diagnostics the heat was back to working. Don't know what I would have done without vid info. All components would have checked OK. Cycling would have shown that heater was not receiving 120v. I would have guessed that circuit board was faulty. Saved me a headache.😉

Very informative video! Thank you! A few months ago we replaced the heating coil and the dishwasher still does not dry the dishes. Everything comes out dripping and after a few weeks mold builds up in the inside of the dishwasher. I had never seen or heard of the panel reset until your video, did that and it still doesnt work. Any ideas on what could be the issue? It is the same model as the one in your video.

I was too lazy to pull out the dishwasher. Put my old, wrinkly, skinny, no muscle tone arms underneath the tub and changed it out in 15 minutes. Thanks for the tip on the filter. Ours was moldy and full of fats, oil, and grease.

The rinse aid was my issue, so does that mean I have to refill it with every wash or does it get to a certain "low" point? I could still see blue (the color of my rinse aid) through the window, but it wasn't drying. Mine is a new dishwasher also.
@WarriorHouseDIY
@WarriorHouseDIY 7 месяцев назад
That’s actually a good problem (kind of annoying but not something major). You just need to keep it full when you see the level is empty. There should be a clear sight glass showing the level.

Didn't finish video because I need to get to bed. Ive been in appliances repair for 15 years. Lot's of bad heating elements I've seen! Not sure if he'll mention this but occasionally putting in a new element will short out the control board. It'll happen.

I have been starting any screw by reverse threading a couple turns just to make sure everything's lined up properly and I can't tell you how many times I've had somebody with me and they look at me like I am mentally challenged. I take a moment to explain to them why I do that and on the one hand I really don't care whether they approve or not because I think it is worth doing things properly but I have to say it is a little soul crushing every time I get look of fear when they think I don't know how a screw works.. 😠

How do you read the error codes from that reset or other procedure?
@WarriorHouseDIY
@WarriorHouseDIY 7 дней назад
Some models the lights will indicate a code. It’s best to do a search for a technical manual by model number. Hope this helps. Sorry for the delay as we just got cell service back a little after the storm. Thanks again for commenting.

@@WarriorHouseDIY I did and AI search for it and this is what it gave me. Interpret the Flashing Lights: Count the Flashes: The lights may flash a certain number of times, pause, and then flash again. The first set of flashes represents the “F” code, and the second set represents the “E” code. For example, 2 flashes ➔ pause ➔ 1 flash indicates error code F2E1. Consult the Error Code Chart: Refer to your user manual or a Whirlpool service manual to interpret the error codes. Common error codes and their meanings include: F1E1: Electronic control malfunction F2E1: Keypad or user interface error F3E1: Water heating system issue F5E1: Door switch problem

My blew the curit breaker one day and it has water pooling in it and wint turn on ... Any clue what could be wrong ? Ima check everything but want to have a start point
@WarriorHouseDIY
@WarriorHouseDIY 7 месяцев назад
Might be a bad flood switch (that can prevent the tub from draining) also could have something blocking the drain line and the pump is working too hard causing the breaker to trip. Good luck and let me know how it goes.

How important are the plastic bolts ? Mine won’t fit one side
@WarriorHouseDIY
@WarriorHouseDIY Год назад
If referring to the plastic nuts for the heat coil, they should be a direct replacement or you can possibly reuse the old ones. But they are important because they provide the waterproof seal where the heat coil enters the plastic tub. Thanks for asking!!

What if its still not heating after replacing the heating element and doing the reset?
@WarriorHouseDIY
@WarriorHouseDIY 6 месяцев назад
I would recommend checking easy things like the rinse aid and then working through a service technician manual (typically available online by searching service manual and your model number) Depending on your unit there may be a fuse or some other physical reset requirement. But start with the easy stuff like the rinse aid, it gets so many of us. Thanks for sharing and let me know how it goes.

@WarriorHouseDIY
@WarriorHouseDIY 6 месяцев назад
If you mean you didn’t disconnect the power wires and also didn’t turn off the circuit breaker then first I would turn off the breaker for about 10 minutes and then re-energize the unit. If that doesn’t work, did you perform the panel reset (end of the video)? Let me know how it goes.
@SkanMLL
@SkanMLL 6 месяцев назад
Thank you for the response on this. I simply unplugged the dishwasher from the wall rather than flipping the circuit breaker, and what I didnt do was the part with undoing the wires. I've tried to reset this dishwasher multiple times but it doesn't seem to want to go into a hard reset mode. I have a Kitchenaid KDFE204EWH3.. I cant find ANYTHING online about how to reset this specific model, everything I see is just generic kitchenaide dishwashers and says to rotate between pressing hightemp wash and heat dry 5x.. I've tried this probably 10x and it doesnt do anything.
