@@seana.5269 Oh boy. Sorry. You can get a Dorman part that has the connector and a length of fuel line preattached to it. Then it comes with a male - make stepped coupler. So now you just cut the fuel line to the length u need, and use the coupler between the fuel line of the car and the fuel line attached to the quick connector.
Oh noo, go back and put the new plastic locking clip on the fuel rail first. That thing's gonna fly right off. Also, if you can find a right angle connector that would be better as the original was a right angle one. Great vid - helpful. I have an '02 LeSabre and my son has the '00 Park Ave. Both use these connectors. Have a great day good buddy! 👍
Some replacement connectors have the nylon locking clip pre-installed. But I didn't see it in this vid. I ordered some right angle ones so I have them on hand just in case.
Didn't need replaced. Just the 2 o rings which are super easy to take out and replace. Less than 2.00 usd, less than 60 seconds to do vs whatever you paid for the replacement part and however long you've spent replacing the hose.
Some manufacturers state to dip the fuel line in warm water to soften it up a bit. Then it goes in easier. Make sure u have the right size. Mine uses 3/8" but some are 5/16".
Hint: Under the back seat there is a fuse panel. 2 fuel pump fuses are located there. Pull them out then start the car till it dies. Drains the pressure and the fuel. You wont make a mess.
Yes, but does the engine use a bypass to the fuel pump through the oil pressure switch like on older engines? If that’s the case, pulling both fuses won’t do anything… the fuel pump will still get a feed through oil pressure switch….
cheap ass plastic connector under the hood over a hot engine unbelievable these cars arent catching on fire../?#$% nice repair job though you did good job showing it thank you
Ha ha haaa. Stupid video !! The fuel line has a 90 deg end connector on it and this guy uses a straight end connector.. Lol. The fuel line has a moulded bend on it... even though the fuel line may reach, there is a constant tension side ways on the new connector end... more strain on one side of the o ring inside the connector.... I love these videos, always a good laugh....
