For me the button to get the display out is on the bottom left. Then the reset button was labeled. Maybe this helps

It worked ca a fonctionné ! I was about to buy another one... It didn't worked the first try because instead of unplugging the 12V I pulled my keys out of my car. But if you don't have a DC converter next to you try by pulling the iso out, 12v and all the speakers. And after pressing the buttons just plug the 12v iso block not the speakers. It will unlock the protect.

Thank you very much! First you need to cut the sound cable in the video. Then, HOLD 3 + 6, Plug In. Then go out DC ERR. Just follow the instructions! My KENWOOD KDC-U449. (Problem PROTECT NO BLINKING).

disconnect the speakers wires, some of them is shorted

My kenwood stereo says “att on” anybody knows what that is? I’ve read online you need the remote to take it off but I threw the stereo remote away lol

Pengalaman saya, saya servis sendiri tegangan ke tuner yg 8 volt drop. Ganti transistor kaki 5 kodenya C2 yg menyuplai tuner. Karena system kenwood sebelum start dia scan hardware dlu kalo ada hardware yg error atau tidak bekerja normal bakal stuck protek. Beres dah.

But this error is due to wiring fault. By removing this protection it wont cause any damage or fire hazards? I'm reluctant to try this method as I'm afraid my car will set on fire

My radio was not working after i find out that water make the way into cables. I did take off the whole radio unit i did remove water from the unit and then i tried this metod. I did press 3 and 6 and the radio just flashed red and turned on. Idk if this metod helper but you got my like

My radio is in demo mode, it says press Volume Knot button and when I press it nothing happens. I tried to unplug radio and plug it back in into power, I tried to reset radio by holding reset button key for 5,10,30 seconds while in power and without power, plugging it back in, it wouldn't work. I tried to hold 3,6 while turning it back on and then pressing 1,2 , nothing happened still in demo mode asking to press volume knot. I opened front radio panel and cleaned all contact with alcohol brush, still same. I sprayed WD Spray onto volume knot button while its opened still same. I retouched soldering points of volume knot button if it had cold connection to resolder it back on, still it doesn't work, asking me to press volume knot button. Anyone has any idea what can I do? Tried other radio, it works perfectly so its not my installation.

some button on the front panel is always short , check all switch buttons with multimeter .

Dear friend I have this model in blue button-light colour and since 2 days I had the protect mode when the wire of the gnd catch in the negative area of the one speaker...I plugged off the 12volts transformer-converter then it works fine

Hey, would it work on kenwood bt306? I dont have the protect mode, but i wanted to update it and the update have failed...now it shows me only update error, if I click on volume knob it says wait and then again update error and i can't do anything. I've tried to disconnect the radio and even the reset.

A big thank you, it worked. Mine was inThe car so I had to disconnected the earth off the battery and then whilst holding buttons 3 and 6 get my wife to put the earth back on the battery. The problem was I left the window open and rained and a speaker got wet causing it to into send protect mode. I do however have one piece of constructive criticism though. Rather than play music can I suggest you actually talk viewers through the process. Once again a big thank you.

I have a Kenwood KDC-252U, mine wasn't in protection mode, but it suddenly stopped reading usb and cd, it just kept saying reading. This worked, but it might be time for a new radio

After numerous attempts I shredded I it responded accordingly navigating different functions WHILE I WAS IN A TOWN 30 miles away from my home. Since I returned home I cannot get past err while err is displayed all buttons are not responding. I've reset following your instructions. I purchased it from local auto recycler warranty expired. I cannot afford to send to Kenwood. Life issues. Are there any other options. Thank you kindly Adam H.

I tried resetting button first it worked, after sometime again it showed protect . Then i checked all the speakers front speaker showed 9ohm and rear showed less than 20ohm. It confirmed the speakers are working good. I left my car for 4 days without starting. Luckily i was suprised it started working agian after 1hr of playtime it again went into protect mode. Will this 3 and 6 method will work or should i consult with a technician.

this method reset all error on the unit , so verify the speakers, 20 ohm it's bad speaker must change it or disconnect it

Tried this after taking my radio out of the dash, and it laid in the floorboard for a few days then I tried to put it back in and it went into protection mode for some odd reason. No wires and change or anything it was just unplugged and plugged back in , But thanks to your video I was able to get it back to working again. Thanks

I have basically the same issue. It worked fine and I disconnected the battery to do some work. When I reconnected the battery it just flashes red and I can feel a pulsing vibration in it. Mine does not say anything, it just flashes red

@@repoapps I checked the fuse it was fine, but to give a better idea, basically, it will turn on for a little bit, but then it will do a jingle like 3 beeps, and then it will shut off for a second or 2 then turn back on, and so on and so forth, But not a bad idea, I did give it a whirl

I have a kdc-330u it bugs the heck out of me! If I jump into my truck. It connects to bluetooth, but only calls and not media. It usually takes like 3 minutes to connect media by itself! It's so annoying!

I found something quiet funny today however some people perhaps might also be facing this. If protect randomly comes on even after several resets. Check the speaker connectors from the trunk and make sure they are taped well. The next reset will resolved it for good 😀😀😀😀

Some button were stucked probably, i removed the front part then shake it on my hand 3, 4 times n buttons pressed then suddenly leave them to make it sure is there any button stucked. So now I m happy . Yeahhhh its working 💪 😁

check the power wires, there's 2 wires the yellow and red . the yellow it's for memory must be connected alone

my buddy mechanic fixed it on my car and it's back again. I was the one doing and undoing the battery connection so I didn't see the buttons to push but this sounds solid. Gonna try it now! thanks! Worked without a problem! You're fantastic! thanks!!!
