Great video! Could I ask a question..our kitchen tap looks a lot like yours, but it seems to be leaking from the very base (ie where the chrome sits on the countertop) and not just from the base of the spout. Do you think this can be fixed by replacing the o-rings and/or the tap cartridges, or should I be looking for something else? Many thanks in advance!

Thank you, now I don't have to pay a plumber to do this job. 5 Years ago a handy man bought a new tap and it cost us £180 with labour, what a shock! The house was only 5 years old and I am sure it was only a wasser or a O-ring that needed a replacement.

How do you remove the tap neck if it does not have either a screw or an Allen key hole at the back ?
@POUSEaroundtheHOUSE
@POUSEaroundtheHOUSE 3 года назад
You can try applying force upwards with the tap located facing centre, but I would advise turning the water off before attempting this as if it does go wrong, you may get wet! If you know the manufacturer it may be worth asking how the tap comes apart first. Best of luck with it.

Unfortunately my problem is a little different to this and have no clue what it could be. The leak is not coming from that mid section, it's a constant drip coming from the tap itself when turned off. I've tried removing that section as shown in the video. All I've noticed is that when you turn on and then off, for a brief moment, the water wells upward . Possibly enough to cause the constant drip out of the tap. Very confused!!
@POUSEaroundtheHOUSE

What a load of old twaddle. Remove the mixer as recommended. Gently remove the worn rubber 0 rings. Wrap 3x only of some linen thread around the seat of the rubber washers. Gently replace the old washers and using a sharp mini stanley type knife CAREFULLY trim any visible threads. Half replace the screw or grub screw into its hole and make sure it isn't showing through to the mixer hole. Far easier to do before the mixer barrel it re fitted. Rub a thin film of washing up liquid onto the rubber washers and then the barrel will re fit easily and finally tighten up the grub screw. Job done and stuff a trip to B&Q.

Great video, perfect for the leak I had. Managed to fix it for the cost of some plumbers grease, as recommended, and new O rings, about six quid in total. Thanks.

Do you have a video for how to fix a leak coming out from the handle on this same model of sink? Can’t find a way to take the handles off!

I don't sorry but it's most likely the cartridge in the handle. It's whether or not the handles come off and if they do, is a cartridge cheaper than a whole new tap?! Best of luck with it.

You should put a bit of plumbing grease around the o-ring to slow down the wearing and tearing. Greets from an Italian plumber in London.
