This video shows you how to fix a leaky toilet. This is particularly for Ideal Standard flush and Ideal Standard toilet inlet valve. The video explains the possible reasons for a leaky toilet and their fixes. It explains the following.
1) How to replace flush valve seal.
2) How to replace inlet valve diaphragm.
I bought the flush valve seal online from "fixthebog" on amazon. Link www.amazon.co....
I bought the inlet valve diaphragm from a local plumbing merchant as whatever I ordered online did not fit properly.

Thanks so much for posting this. Both seals were damaged on mine after 12 years. The edges of the flush seal had crumbled away over time, and the diaphragm, although visually sound, had a pin hole in it. The flush seal was out of stock in 5 places I tried, but my local Wolseley came up trumps for both items. The replacement flush seal is actually white & the diaphragm is the same minus the little ribs. The SVO1967 flush mechanism has apparently been discontinued now, but the seals can still be sourced at the moment. I bought spare items just in case. Both work perfectly. Top work sir! 👏👏👏

Thank you so much for the video! I had a persistent overflow leak in my toilet and after watching your video I investigated and realised it was a faulty inlet valve diaphragm…Ordered a £6 replacement from Amazon, it arrived this morning and I fitted it in 2mins. Problem sorted! Saved me a £150 out of hours plumber visit. Thanks again 🙏🏽

You, sir, are a life-saver. The toilet was driving me nuts as it would be constantly re-filling (mostly at night, for some reason - I think it was doing it deliberately to annoy me! 😄). I finally got around to fixing after seeing my latest water bill! 😬 I'd always thought that plumbing was some dark art, but this was so simple to do, so thank you, thank you, you've probably saved me a small fortune over the next few years. 👍🏻

Mate you’re a legend. Our ensuite toilet has been overflowing like this for god knows how long. At least a year since we moved in i guess, but these past few months its been really troubling me to the point of losing sleep over it and being reluctant to call a plumber to pay plumber prices for what i assumed would be a simple fix. I had already tried the first fix which didn’t work but the second solution did the charm so thank you so much for providing the knowledge and giving me the confidence to fix it. I can now sleep without hearing a distant trickle/ hissing noise!!

I am so pleased I came across this video. I have had exactly the same issue as the one you are talking through. After replacing the main flush valve (which probably needed to be replaced anyway, the water was still leaking from the inlet valve, even after holding up the plastic float which I didn’t even know was possible!! Anyway, thankfully after taking a picture of your diaphragm part I went to multiple stores and all had the standard diaphragm valve which you also show (from screwfix etc) after going to my final plumbing merchant (Wolesley Plum Centre) they gave me the correct valve and like your set up, the water valve is all tiled away behind the toilet. From switching off the main water valve in the kitchen to replacing the diaphragm, it took about 4 minutes! Switched the water back on and now all working. Your video is very well explained for me and has probably saved me a call out fee and a replacement inlet valve, all for some inconvenience in shopping around today for the correct valve and spending £8 as I had to buy the full ideal inlet service pack. Thank you again!!!

You explained this well. I had this problem in two loos, and it turned out one was just the flush valve but the other needed both changing, though I found the new (non-ridged) Ideal Standard inlet valve diaphragm cap worked fine. You saved me a plumber's bill and a lot of stress - thank you.

Thanks for the video. I had purchased one of the service kits and thought I would have a look at how someone else did it, even though I had replaced one before. HOWEVER, when I took the other one apart and fitted the diaphragm, it did not stop filling up. It then became apparent that I needed the one WITHOUT the lip around the top. If I had not watched your video, I would not have known there were 2 types! So despite it fact it was not the one you needed, it was the one I needed!! So once again, thank you for your informative video.
