1) make sure your keyboard is plugged-in. 2) you may have a bad connection on the HD. (I have repaired MANY systems where the connector was bad, or the connector wasn't plugged-in all the way.
This is a terrific video, thanks for taking the time to make it. I just forward it to a friend of mine who was having trouble with his MacBook Pro. You saved his butt.💪🏻😎
Mine it’s getting stuck as I log in and it’s trying to start its getting stuck like at %99 percent right before the screen opens up. It doesn’t go all the way up to 100.
None of these are working... what should I do? No matter which way I do it, it just gets stuck on the booting up screen, whether it stops at some point or just stays at 100% and does nothing. But I can’t get back into my mac. Plus it never backed up at all. I can’t reinstall the OS X because I only have one drive, and it won’t allow me to use it. I can’t tell if I’m screwed or not. I had a bunch of Logic Pro X files on there, plus I spent a lot of time on Steam. It started on Christmas. I have a used MacBook Pro (or Air, I’m not really sure, as the text under the screen says pro, but when the computer refers to itself in files it says air), from 2012. I was playing Terraria on Steam, when everything was really laggy. That was unusual, so I was confused. Eventually, the whole thing ended up crashing. Now I’m here. Please someone help, I really need my laptop back!
Thank you so much for your help. You are very patient. I don’t know what worked but I went to bed and when I woke up Monterey was installed! You made my day!
I took your advise and it worked. I HAVE A MID 2012 MacBook Pro I called AppleCare and told them as a disclaimer that this computer may bot be under warranty because I got this from a friend and they was ok with helping me. I TOLD THEM THAT I WAS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AND YOU HELPED ME. Apple was very pleased that this troubleshooting technique worked. Im not a rich dude but but I am very thankfiul for people like you for doing what you do in this platform.. Good luck and stay Blessed... THANKS
Damn Hackermaniac is a real dude I got some recommendations about him a d decided to chat him up on Instagram with my issue. 2019 and you save me bro thank you so much after i was stuck on started os system ..i try to repaired it by disk utility and after two tries it works and i accesed to all my data thank you so much again ✌
@@bisayangmoro7568 Yes and no. Yes, my issue was resolved and I was able to log on to my system and it is functioning properly once again. However, I have no idea why. I turned it off out of frustration and started using another system in my house. I went back a few days later turned it on and voilà, it was working again. Sorry, I wish I could tell you more.
@@maggie642 As someone who has a computer certification, I only learned the following reasons to the spinning ball of death (pinwheel): - Bad hardware - Bad application - Look in the console log for further details of the issue I'm sure there can be other reasons to this but these are by far the most common ones.
@@bobnoob1467 Thank-you for answering , but.......How can I do that if I cannot get into the computer, after login it's the spinning wheel. I gave up & replaced that Macbook . What I really want now is to withdraw the date on that, an SSD that can read the old Toshiba HD...none so far cater for this type of HD. Apple really cheated by outsourcing this product.
My man!!!! You just bought life back to my 2009 I mac it’s up and running working well. Keep doing what you’re doing, stay blessed and have a great day 👍😃
Guys everything works except OS X Utilities when i turn on my mac and hold "Command+R" its stuck on the apple logo loading screen, can someone please help me?
Even when i reinstall my os, it will download after 40 minutes and then when it trys to start up, the loading bar goes to full but stays there, and i left it for hours and it stays at full with nothing happening, I’ve tried all the solutions he said, but they haven’t worked. Any advice?
Many, many thanks.. This helped so much I ended up restoring from time machine but this video pointed me to the right direction. All out there, make sure you back up regularly ......
PLEASE HELP My MacBook Pro 13inch is now FIVE DAYS OLD and i have this fucking problem. I installed a driver (for my Roland keyboard) and before I could restart the Mac, it shut down by itself. That was the last time I saw my desktop. When pressing the power button, it takes me to the login screen, but the loading takes forever and never gets to the desktop screen. Guest user login does work. I now tried to start up with cmd+r and now I‘m on the mac utilities screen. Please help me, I dont know what to do now. I really don’t want to lose my data, because the last 5 days I spent nothing but all of my time on this MBP.
I reset the nvram/pram, tried safe mode, tried repairing both drives, and reinstalling OS. MacBroke still sticks on startup with fans on high. Any ideas?
This worked to turn it on! Mine ended up being a hard drive cable that was the issue. I’d recommend just taking it your local computer shop so you don’t accidentally erase or delete all your data!
OMG - You saved me with this video. I was convinced my MacBook Air (2012) was toast. Stuck in boot loop hell. Could not get to internet recovery. It would start and then go to a warning triangle (apple/support under it). I tried every trick (Command, option, shift, P, S,R) for the last 4 days and nothing worked. Was shopping for a new Air all day and ready to bite the bullet. BUT, your video where you said to hold the Command R key down a long time was what got me to the repair part and internet recovery. I guess I was not holding it down long enough. All my stuff (favs, iTunes) is still on it. 30 minutes and counting. Almost ready for it to crash and burn again like it is too good to be true. Fingers crossed. THANK YOU!!!
No matter what is held, it immediately jumps to the loading bar, takes an hour or more to get to the end, sits there for over 6 hours....never boots. Dumping Apple. This is ridiculous--- and NOW you can't even access the frigging HDD w/o pulling the frigging screen off w/a HEAT GUN??? F-APPLE!
This is what happened to me today. My mac was working normal and then it started Lagging Like CRAZY and then i hard reseted it and then it was so slow and i was logging in and it froze for a bit but the the screen went black and the cursor was still there and idk what to do.if I reinstall OS X what will happen to my applications
This man is amazing. He is not only patient and pleasant, but his whole approach with the screen shots is so very clear. He took me by the hand from one method to the next to solve the problem. And I have to admit that I had to go through all the methods until I got to the "final" one (after which what would one do?) which worked. Thank you so very much.
I tried everything and no luck. I could never get to safe mode. When I went to reinstall iOS I got kept getting the “an error has occurred” message, updated the date and I still get the same message. HELP ANYONE. Been at this now for 6 hours....
That’s why I hate updating Mac once they see ur Mac old always want to destroy it it seems via update . The one I have in my living room still work since I stop using on the internet since 2012
Update: I took my iMac to the Apple store, got an appointment (FREE) they showed me how to transfer all my data off my mac to an external hard drive, now I am going to go back to wipe and reinstall Sierra OS. Their advice "Don't update your OS to the newest version, don't be the guinea pig It's made for the latest technology available," I was running High Sierra which basically overwhelmed my 2012 iMac. Target disk mode: Hold "T" on startup, which turns your mac into a hard drive and does not boot the OS, allows the transfer of files from old mac. (I did not need to login or anything).
My MacBook Pro late 20 13 15 inch it takes a while for the screen to display a blue folder with a question mark I try or troubleshooting keys like command R, command option R, all and nothing shows up in the screen just a blue folder with? I called Apple to guide me but they determine it might be a hardware failure, But it’s weird all I did was update my operating system and when it was time to boot up it never did only this problem can you please help me
Thank you so much I was able to fix my computer thanks to you. I'd been asking my kids to please fix it but of course didn't so I found your video it's like the best thing I could have found. Again THANK YOU please continue to make helpful videos.
I’ve tried everything and nothing is working.. when I do the disk first aid it says that repairing the volume has failed.. EVERYTIME! Please tell me what I can do!
KJ_Edits in that case You need to restore your MacBook, I think that's the only option option you'll lose everything but your MacBook will be Virgin again
Mine reaches halfway very fast and slows down... then it stops at the very end i tried all of them except then last one... i am about to try that now and just saying dont read more told ya Xd XD XD XD XD XD
This guy is good! Really Good. No offense, but it is refreshing to have some speak English and I can understand. (This no offense to those great people who try to help!!) I can not get the mac to work- yet- However, many times it is my fault and not knowing to release buttons.... This guy also is very confident and seems to know what he is doing. I almost had it last week from following him. If he reads the comments: A and A+ when I fix it which I am confident I will.
I’ve tried every single one and it just goes back to a loading bar and Apple logo. It fills up completely and stops. It was like that for over 6 hours.
HewowJow do you get a spinning thing or what happens ? I managed to fix my sisters laptop after a whole day of trying, i tried all the solutions until i made up my own
Thank you for this dude! I was stuck for over 18 hours hoping the updates would finish but I kept going to the same point. I'm currently reinstalling the OS and I hope it works. Thank you.
