Stuff breaks down. Contractors don't have the time or inclination to deal with a broken tool so they just go buy a new one. Like Tim Sway, my favorite store is the garbage can. Here I rescue a framing nailer from the garbage.
I bought this nail gun as we were planning to renew all the fencing in our back garden. As this involved 19 double slatted fence panels, 10 of which needed to be cut down in size, we knew there would be a need for a great ru-vid.comUgkxHQsUrwNr5GQrnx9V4xDdUr56qxwuiBHt deal of re-stapling the wooden slats to the wooden framework. Each alteration required the re-stapling of 62 wooden slats with double staples. Prior to starting the work we ordered sufficient additional staples as per the instructions with the gun.The gun performed fantastically throughout the entire project with no jams of misfires. The adjustable power was excellent allowing the staples to be fired into the 8mm slats to the correct depth. For the price paid this was a bargain and it proved itself to be so reliable and versatile making an arduous task much quicker and professional. I cannot recommend this product highly enough and it will be used on many other projects in the future.
I know this is 7 years old, but I've got 3 framing nail guns sitting in the garage I've accumulated over the years renovating my rental properties that won't fire. And I always put a few drops of hydraulic oil in them before each use. And these are name brands,.. not HF stuff. This is the first time a video popped up that finally addressed the problem. Thx.
Wildman, you da MAN!!! Thanks for the informative tutorial. I just couldn't imagine what in the heck my Framing Nailer's problem was Saturday when I tried to use it, and all I got was air shooting out of the piston housing each time I pulled the trigger.
Well, finally I found a video that shows where that broken neoprene goes. Thanks! PS: Too much air pressure will blow out the trigger seals. I believe about 90psi is the max!
I have the same kind of coil nail gun needs a new gasket but I can’t find the name and part number or the link for the item you replaced in your video. Please can you provide me with the link of the part?
Hi I have a framing nailer having trouble with the next nail not loading . Have pull load trigger and let it hit the nails hard and the it loads the nail? Lube problem or what ?
hi, hope you or some one comes across this, i was given a second hand supco SDA-50 nail gun. upon opening i found the piston part is missing. is it possible to buy these parts, are they common sizes amongst most brands? any advice would really help
I suppose you have to have a big bag of assorted size seals ? where do I get those ? my bostitch floor nailer has the same problem but the seal from Bostitch comes as part of a $80 repair kit.
My local tool repair shop had the one seal for $6. I could have bought a repair kit for $80, but since I was doing a favor for a friend, I opted to just replace the one part that failed. With some diligence and resourcefulness, one can actually find parts without buying rebuild kits.
Good video , helpful, but we don't have Ye Olde local Tool Repair Shoppe. We have Home Depot , if they don't sell them ,(which they don't, ) you have to spend time searching online. Then you have to wait until it arrives and find it's wrong and by the time you've sent it back a couple of times, you've long since replaced the tool. I wonder if there is a way to make seals, I remember when we used to make gaskets with a template.
You have a home depot, but no tool repair shop? That's hard to imagine. I've seen them in pretty small towns. Dixon, CA has one and that's a pretty small town. The seal I replaced in this unit could have been made from the right size hose or a block of rubber on a lathe.
I live in a good size 'City" where it's much less likely to find 'Repair shops' than in a small town, Gone are the Mom and Pop Hardware stores too. We can still take tools to Home Depot and Lowes but even they, usually send them out for repair. I'll look for hoses, that might work, as I have several air tools needing fixing.
I have a Central Pneumatic roofing nail gun, 93253. I watched the clip and took it apart. There are two green bumper parts that deteriorated. One is a dampener at the very back, the other is a external dampener on the outside of the piston cylinder. I can not find a place to buy replacement parts. Major spare part suppliers do not list Central Pneumatic, neither Harbor Freight. Any idea? I believe that this brand uses parts that are designed for another brand. 2022-11-22
Hey I’ve got never used before freeman framing nail gun and it don’t work. I’ve loaded with 21 degrees 2 in nails plastic collated and put a lil oil in the air connection were the hose goes into . Air pressure is set to the correct pressure but nothing. What could be the problem?
I was looking for a video on how to fix a nail gun I found in the trash and yours popped up. It's the exact one I have. Where do you buy the replacement seals from? Great video BTW.
I would search your area for a tool repair shop. They're quite common. Here's a link to a rebuild kit, but I just bought the seal for $6. amzn.to/2GUh4Vq
The purpose of the video is to show you how to diagnose and repair what is arguably the most common problem a nail gun might have. I can’t tell you if this will fix yours, but there’s more than enough info presented here for you to determine that for yourself.
Wildman Tech so I repaired the cracked seal and it fired on the first nail, but then dry fires after that. Could it be something related to the trigger?
When did I mention Amazon? I just re-watched the entire video and didn't see that. The part will be different depending on which nail gun you have. Search for tool repair near you. they'll probably have it in stock. Mine did.
@@WildmanTech : hello , you mentioned it in a text when someone asked the same question ❔. I just checked, it was a question ❔ from James Baldwin. You gave a link 🔗 to amazon.
@@WildmanTech : ok 👌 thanks. The reason for the part # is that from looking at the pictures of the gasket online, I'm not sure which one I need. I want to buy the same one that you bought.
imaslowlerner if you buy the kit I specified you will get the exact same one I bought. But that only makes sense if you have the exact same nailer I have.
Never ever put white lithium or any other grease on bolt threads that you don't want to vibrate loose on you! Use thread sealer or anti seize never a lubricant!
