Hi. Thanks for the tutorial. I managed to replace my charge port, but now my screen doesn't light up. The power button works, I can hear the welcome screen. I don't hear the tone telling me the phone is charging when I plug in. Can I have received a bad charge port, and will that kill power to the screen?
I would double check all the ribbon cable connections. The phone will power on even when the screen is not connected. It is also possible that you have a bad port, test it with the old one as well. Good luck!
And I want to add another thing. When I plug the charger in, it does make the sound that it's charging. Also plugging phone into USB on my PC, my computer does see (Recogize)the phone, but that's it.
I have to slide a metal piece into my phone in order for a non fast charging charger to work it's not even the one that came with my phone. I also can't get data to transfer through when I do plug it into a computer it only recognizes it as a charger.
