A squeaky clutch pedal can be one of the most annoying things to experience in a stick shift car. The exact cause can be hard to trace, but no worries, this video shows how to fix a squeaky clutch pedal permanently. It lays out four simple steps you can follow to diagnose and fix the source of your noise. It starts with the most likely causes and ends with the most severe, but covers how to fix every part of a clutch system that can possibly squeak.

Awesome video man, Im hopeful this is the same squeak I’m hearing. I won’t be able to weld that section back myself unfortunately. is there any other way of doing it? Because I can see mines loose even with the pedal still In the car. Thank you!

I think the metal may be too thin to try anything else, especially a solution that will hold up. If you can’t weld it yourself, I would suggest removing it from the car and taking it somewhere. Almost any shop that has welding capabilities can knock that out in 5 or so minutes, and likely wouldn’t charge much at all. The peace of mind of having that done will likely be worth it though, this was an issue I wanted to fix once and never think about again. I will say the only difficulty is that you’ll be asking someone to weld aluminum which can be a pain. Good luck and I hope it works out for you, thanks for watching!

Hey there, thank you for your effort. I have the same issue I tried all steps besides welding/reinforcing the pedal.. Its impossible to find a new OEM clutch pedal in germany… 😢 Cheers

how do you remove the clutch pedal? I cant get the top left nut out.

There’s three nuts. The top left is a major pain and took my a deep well socket, swivel, and extension to get out

Hey, so I tried this yesterday. I got the pedal out of the car and saw it were the bearings that make it squeak. Fortunetaly, I have a workshop here in Germany that welded the pedal for me. However, swapping out the master cylinder wasn't that easy. I have the NCFL, and over the cylinder lays the sound tube of the sound enhancer that has to be disassembled first. You can try to bend it a bit, though, which could be enough space. Secondly, the brake line wasn't going off, as the nut was old and rusty. Also, my new cylinder - not an original Mazda Part - missed a seal to put against the fire wall. So after all, I just put the paddle back in and it all works fine now, as I swapped out the bearings connected to the spring myself. The squeak is gone, and that's enough for me for now :D

So, to make that more clear, I didn't swap out the cylinder at all. Still works.

@@running2redline The sound enhancer was introduced with the Facelift version (NC2. So no surprise your's didn't have it :) Not a country thing I guess.
