Can't believe this worked on my 2013 Cadillac SRX. Mine had the issue on the front passenger side. It also worked to reset the lumbar support back to off and the recline worked again.
LMFAO! I tried this and my seat got stuck all the way back, now I can’t reach the pedals and have to drive looking like a whole ass Mexican grandmother
Ok Abuela, try this,,,,, disconnect the positive side of the battery cable. Leave it off for 5 minutes. while its off, pull and check the fuse for the seat motor. reinstall fuse, reconnect battery cable. see if it works.
Thanks for the video just a quick tip I wanted to share with you bc you was talking about cleaning your seats I’m a professional detailer most stores like Wal-Mart have these they are called Mr Clean dry erasers spray some all purpose on your seat soak it pretty good then use the erasers on them then wipe the extra stuff off with a rag your seats will look brand new 😀 when I started detailing I discovered those and they work like magic and they are pretty cheap too !
I was prepared to ransack the innards of my power driver seat in my 98 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP, but I'm so glad I ran across your video because this trick worked like a charm. The seat would move every which way but backwards and unfortunately, I'm 6' tall and clumsy as hell so I'd gradually inched it forward bit by bit on accident over the last few months to the point that my legs didn't fit anymore 😂 I tilted it all the way up/back and it slid right back! Thank you so much!!
It didn't work for my Ford truck. Now my seat is leaning all the way back. It was already too far back so it was worth the try. Thanks for sharing just the same.
Wow, thanks so much. I was thinking this won’t be cheap. This might not work for everyone but it worked first time like a charm for me! Just great, so happy! Thanks again.
Omg thanks i couldn't even drive comfortable because my seat was all the way back...all i did was make back rest go all the way down and it went up perfectly
Thanks! Worked on my 2019 acura rdx! Wasnt moving forward and back but i tilted the seat all the way back and i was able to move it forward and back! Hopefully it doesnt happen again!
I actually got that tip from the ford parts guy when I called about a price on the switch unit. It's stopped working several times and that little tip has worked every time.
It's been in the upper 60's & low 70's here. Never seen it this cool this early. Not that I'm complaining. It's typically in the 100's....LOL We're having rain as well. It was getting pretty dry around these parts. When I first saw your vid. I thought that the butter monster had tried to steal your truck & broke the seat. :D Sure am glad that you folks aren't being flooded. Was getting worried. I have some family in the Houston area. Maybe it's time to invest in some rice....
The last several years, August has been so dry that all out grass died and the trees would start losing leaves to concentrate on staying alive. I'm trying not to complain so much since the drought has been so bad for so long.
Your sense of humor is priceless! I thoroughly enjoy your channel. :) I have another question since you drove for many years. On the Cajon Pass the trucks were lined up on both sides because of the fire. Several were filled with perishable food like produce. If the stuff goes bad, does the insurance pay for it, doesn't it affect the driver for his miles being stuck? Perhaps you could do a short video on how stopped trucks affect us via the butterfly affect, how it trickles down? Thank you. :)
the food wont perish unless the engine that runs the refrigeration unit on the trailer, runs out of fuel. Most refers tanks hold 50,100 gallons. It would run for days and days. Truckers dont get paid unless their wheels are turning.
Heheheh, you told the whole world the missus is dirty and sweaty! So ahhmmm..... Where are you sleeping the next few days? I don't remember seeing AC in your shop. And that rain!!!! God bless. At least your up on a hill of sorts. Stay safe.
Believe me,my wife and I joke around alot,. I hardly ever have to sleep in the shop. I actually do have a huge 220 window ac in the shop, but when I turn it on,my wallet empties.
Damn sir! My seat was at 180° and flat like my girlfriend back in 8th grade. Wouldn't budge up til I saw ur vid and decided to try and push my seat FURTHER down! Well I pressed it and then pressed forward..... Valla it works!
HOT here in Oregon...102° at our house...it's been over 100° all week...seems someone switched our weather. I've been wonderin' how you'r faring with all the flooding down there. Glad to see it looks like your ok....
BCtruck, rebuild, repair, repurpose That works! Have you seen the floating vests for dogs? Too small for you and me, obviously, but like for your canines. Oh never mind...I'm sure they swim better than most people! Dogs are awesome like that.
No dog house for me. My wife and I joke alot. Its either laugh or cry. I prefer laughing and so does she. Besides,If she kicks me out,I'll sleep in my shop. I have snacks hidden out there.
I think they learn to tolerate us or something... we went into Cracker Barrel and they have a witches broom that moves around, I said"hey hag, whistle see if the brooms comes to you" I got some looks from other folks....lol, of course she just indicated she was my number one fan. I'll do an onion in foil like a baked tater, never tried them the way you showed. One of my favorite ways to make and eat onions is to slice up a couple then cook low and slow in butter or bacon grease or more recently olive oil =( until they are nice and brown then make a sandwich with buttered pumpernickel.. of course I'm not adverse to eating the left covers right out of the jar from the fridge....
Video a bit TMI - but as to the simple fix, it was right on. reclining the seat back all the way allowed it to back far enough. I did laugh at the wife joke. Thanks for info
I do my videos for my friends, family and subscribers. They enjoy my conversation. This video wasn’t done for you and you have the choice of forwarding past conversation you don’t want to hear, or just fucking completely off.
take it apart and submerge the switches in rubbing alcohol I had a Ford Mustang I had to do that to the window switch on the passenger side that didn't get used much and it worked perfectly
Man, we could use some of that rain up here... Even though we have had a fair amount of rain over the past month, I was just pulling weeds and the ground was bone dry... I guess it's been so hot that the rain all evaporated before sinking into the ground! **sigh**
I wish the rain was up here and I love them temps I would be on the move all day long can't stand the heat and your polterguist is doing the same thing with my stuff too how did it get this far east
Little "Water Displacement number 40" would probably do it wonders. My mom had a Ford Taurus that the dome lite stuck on. I pulled the bulbs out to get her by till I could fix it. I found out that some idiot decided to put the switch inside the latch assembly. But a little aforementioned magical elixir sprayed inside the latch assembly fixed it up just fine.
Will that work for any seats? I bought an Infiniti G35 and both seats will only recline but won't go forwards. The also only move backwards but now forwards. My brother said he could probably fix it but he hasn't figured it out yet. I don't want to move the seats back all the way and then not be able to fix it.
Even if you move them all the way back, if this doesn’t work, under the seat will be a bolt you can turn to move the seats forward. Also, try unplugging the wiring harness that goes the the actuator motor under the seat, and plug it back in.
I saw a comedy skit where every time there was an accident like someone tripping on a stairwell or falling over a cliff, as it was happening ,they would yell thanks Obama. They were actually making fun of how many things and how often he blamed George W for every problem, even into his second term!!!
In reality, I'll get as tired of hearing it's obamas fault as I did hearing it's bushes fault. I spit coffee out my nose when in his second term, Obama blamed the previous administration again for the latest thing to go wrong.
I have found that the Obama administration is good for very few things, chief among them is the unwavering ability to blame everyone else for their failures, Bush and republicans in congress being the main ones blamed and then accepting or claiming the positive outcome of something others did as if Obama himself somehow did it. How unfortunate for us that congress is so weak and corrupt that it refuses to use it constitutional powers to rectify the disaster this administration and president has been for the past 8 years....
+AmericanLibertyFighters I think it's because they are all owned by the same corporations. This bit of infighting and posturing we get to witness is just so we will believe there is a difference between them.
I can agree to a point on most of those in politics being owned by corporations. Unfortunately the way things are these days makes it easy for this to happen when lobbyists pay for votes. Sad thing is that most Americans either don't care what's going on or blindly believe them when told there's a difference between the Parties. Leadership of both Parties just want to protect the power they have grabbed and the dirty money filling their pockets from back door secret deals made.
Tried the seat back. Tried unplugging as read below... Nothing. Any other tips? Ford fusion 2010. It's going forward but not back. I'm not sure I can drive it tomorrow now.. made it home today after it got stuck.. knees neatly touching dash. Only lowering the seat back helped. Don't think it will now..
@@bctruck Thanks! Going to have my husband check that with me tomorrow. Appreciate your help! Couldn't find a single video on RU-vid about my specific year, just every hear around it it seemed. LOL
@@bctruck If not the fuse, I may see if we can do that but the motor seemed to be pretty hard to reach. So hope the fuse does the trick! This happened once before and somehow worked itself out. I had to move it today only cause something important got lodged in a weird spot between my seat and the center console.. and it acted up again.
