What I like about people and RU-vid is that people share these little things get us out of binds. Plus it's fascinating to see others sharing the same concerns. Lol. Thanks for taking the time out of your day for sharing! We muchly appreciate it.
Helped me repair a bad snap on my hiking backpack that would have made the rest of the hike pretty chitty without your advice. Your fix worked great. Thanks man! It worked so well that I'm a little embarrassed that I didn't think of it on my own......lol. Oh well. It holds like new, and that's all that matters. Thanks again for saving my arse. Really. I looked up your video mid-hike from my phone while out in a pretty remote area. Even had to hoof it to a high spot to get data reception. Used the plyer's on my multi-tool to bend and warp that little snap to my will. Muhahahaha! Got me back on the trail so I could make it home and type up a proper comment for your vid. Keep keeping it crazy my friend! 🙃
THIS IS AN ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT solution... well done, Sir. Thank you. The sheath for my fishing knife can't be replaced (!!) and the snap had gotten weak where it no longer holds with the slightest tension. Even though i have a logical mind, i didn't think of this and you totally solved my problem. #MUCHgratitude (NOTE to others who try this: Matt warned me and i heeded his warning but make sure you squeeze your pliers sloooowly. i almost screwed up. the male side of the snap wasn't yielding to the pressure so i applied SLIGHTLY too much pressure when squeezing the pliers and i almost screwed up... and there is no going back if you ruin the snap!).
I will try this on my Eddie Bauer down coat that keeps me warm in MT freezing and below weather. I was prepared to replace the snaps but this is much better. Thanks for sharing!
I just bought a vintage Brando style leather D pocket jacket and it has snap style belt loops on the back and front that keep unsnapping on me. I thought about searching for a tapered tool or punch that fits down into the male end of the snap and tapping on it to slightly flare it so that it snaps tighter but this technique looks like it would work also, I'll keep it in mind, thanks...
Perfect! I have a nice EDC pouch & a snap won’t stay coupled- too lose. The fix is in! I gotta say peeps we have it pretty good compared to way back when we can find a fix with a 2 minute Google or RU-vid search.
I've had a denim jacket for a few weeks. Several times at school, the cuff of the jacket would unbutton, leaving it hanging there. Thanks for the tutorial!
I have an old open face helmet that I'm custom painting for a friend, it needed a new sun visor so I ordered one on ebay it fits good but 1 snap keep coming off so I saw your video on youtube and I'm going to try your solution and I think it will work> Thanks for your time and video!!!!
I sold a leather mini skirt with snap buttons in the front. Unfortunately, I didn't realise one of the snaps is loose and won't close. I'm going to try this method and re - sell. 👍🏾
Well I be damned, worked perfect. Had a pair of very expensive First Tactical pants, button never worked from the get go, now there good to go. Thanks dude!!!
I have a jacket with this issue. I can do this to the Male part but the female part doesnt have enough exposed through the materia to do it with. Will this work only adjusting the Male end of the snap? Thanks
Any suggestions for how to slightly loosen a metal snap? I have one that is too tight and i need to pull the material hard to undo it each time. So i want to make it looser so i dont rip or stretch the material. Thanks!
I have the same snap I had a leather worker put on my full grain leather purse, but it is so tight I can barely unsnap or snap it. How can I fix that? He told me it would loosen over time. Is that true? Thank you!
That is something I never tried but I would consider putting super glue gel (not the liquid but the gel) around the inner crevice behind the part that jiggles - be careful - it will stain your fabric or leather if you don't mind - then let it dry for a day and see if that stops the jiggle
