That was CRAZY easy to do. I just purchased a new battery last week, went out of town for 5 days, and car was so dead that I could not even jump it. Took battery back to Advanced Auto, they charged it back to full strength. I watched your video and was able to follow your steps. I just finished, but I am comfortable that it will work, because I had the same symptoms as everyone else. Dude, you guys are HOT! Big Thanks.
I'll be darned.. such a wonderful thing to find that a 10 min DIY was the only thing needed to alleviate this headache. In hindsight, I could've avoided buying a new battery 6 months ago, but I'm just glad it's fixed now.
This is a lifesaver. I've changed my battery probably 4x in the last 5 years and always assumed it was because of the extreme heat in AZ. I'm about to ship my car overseas and now I feel safe knowing the battery won't be drained when it arrives. Thanks!
@@zackzittel7683 That solution is laborious and then requires reload of the Navi system ; on board ECM has to relearn and do you really want you wife getting under the hood every day?
@@jameshayward8533 what are you talking about? Every day? I’m talking about before it’s shipped overseas. Which is common sense because cars are notorious for being at risk for electrical fires when aboard ships as the salty air induces corrosion of the terminals and causes shorts.

You are a God send !!! Couldn't figure out what's draining my battery. The car was left for 4 days without driving and it became dead. I went out bought a brand new battery left the car a week without driving, it died 🙃 my God, I had to find out why whithout going to these rip off mechanics then I found you. Thank you!! After going through 4 batteries and on the verge of needing another after about 12 months with the latest $225+ battery installed I found this video. It took less than 5 mins to access the bluetooth module. I figured I would just remove it because it was only three additional screws, once I did that the black cover popped right off and the circuit board inside it was literally so hot it was hard to believe. The car hadn't been used in a day and it was sitting in the garage so there was even a little bit of ambient heat. Can't wait to not have to deal with this issue going forward, finally.

I had to revisit this video b/c my battery began to die again years later...after reading up on other things that may cause Acura's battery to drain, I read a post about a mechanic reconnecting the Bluetooth when the owner had his headliner replaced. That's precisely what happened to me! So if you unplugged your Bluetooth & later had your headliner replaced & your battery starts to die- mine was 3 yrs later- Check the connection again!
My Acura has been sitting for few months now because I gave up on it. Took it mechanics and no one could fix it. I will try this later today...hopefully it works and if it does I will come back to praise you.

This problem has had me puzzled for 2 years. I love my 06 MDX, but this was almost the last straw. Haven't used hands-free since 2011. Thanks for the clear instructions. I'm tired of coming out to a dead car and AAA is tired of giving me free batteries!!!!! Of course, this is usually not a problem if you drive it every day. For the last 2 years it's more like twice a week. Hopefully, this is the end of my battery drain.

That’s a simple fix….one of the ABS cables has worn….I had the same issue, but I ran over some debris on highway and it cut mine. It’s one of the cables located at the front tires.
Worked perfectly. My hands free device stopped working and then a few weeks later I started having battery issues. I had s feeling this was the issue but had no way of proving it. Thanks!!!!
Just did this with my 2007 Acura TL. Took me literally five minutes. Thx bro! Respect ✊🏻! Hope it solves my battery drain. I’m sure after many weeks of research that this was the cause. I call with my phone plugged into the auxiliary port, so I never used the hands free feature.
Thanks dude! Just replaced my wifes battery and bam - it's bone dead after she took 4 days off and it wasn't driven. Read a few blogs (this was mentioned) and did the touch test on the overhead console. Freezing temps outside and it's the only part of the car that's warm to the touch...
This is so funny. I have spent money on aux/Bluetooth connectors and looked this up after replacing the battery AGAIN after a road trip in the wife’s minivan. I asked the dude for an 8mm socket wrench and did this while he was changing out my battery haha we finished about the same time. Yo thanks very much garage boys! Cheers!
I wish I had read this earlier. I've been so darn frustrated with this car overall due mainly b/c of this very issue. Screw bluetooth I'll just my visor motorola clip-on that I've used for years works great.
Thank you! I went to my local Honda dealer with this issue, they sold me a new timing belt and oil pump. The guy pulled the overhead light plug instead of the hands free computer plug, it seems he was to lazy to remove the 4 eight millimeter bolts.

Garage boy I was getting a battery drain and I watch this video I’m gonna take the bolts off once I get the right tool I see how easy it is I’m experiencing battery drain and also my headlights was blinking on n off key was not sure n ignition after I charge car it seem to do ok after I drive the car this video is awesome I’m gonna try but I tell you I’m ready to trade my 2005 TL I’m not comfortable driving out of town she may just die on me I love Acura cats but I’ve put so much money into her I’m done this year .... looking for a cheap car not saying no car will ever give me issues but this is a nightmare sorry Acura been good but it’s time for maybe a Honda 🤷🏾♀️. I have been having a parasitic drain problem with my 2007 Acura TL for a while, I just tried this right now, fingers crossed. Especially since the drain is coming from Fuse 6 which has the HFL under it.
@@GarageBoys This worked! My TL finally does not die after a day or so of not being turned on. Very easy to do and definitely worth a try if you have a parasitic drain issue.

Is it located in same place on a 2009 Acura TL? Saw another video of someone removing one down near the gear shift. Just trying to make sure I know exactly where it is before I go prying apart my car lol
UPDATE: It has been 2 weeks and 10 of those days I was out to sea. I pretty much followed your instructions before bed and the next morning it turned on fine and i drove to base. I went underway with my ship that day so my car sat on base without being started for over a week. When we got back a few days ago I was dreading getting to my car and having to jump it but it turned on! It took a couple seconds but I dunno, maybe it’s from constantly jumping the battery multiple times a week, lol. I haven’t had to jump it once since I took that piece out. Thank you. This is bittersweet because I took my vehicle to the Acura dealership awhile back and spent… I won’t say how much (embarrassed) and the problems was back within a couple months. I took it to Firestone and spent about the same amount again (so ashamed) and was having the same battery issue within months. I am 100% sure the Acura folks new what was going on and still took all that time troubleshooting and saying other major parts MIGHT be the problem. What a waste of $?,???.??!!!! Thanks again
Same thing happens with the MDX models, but the bluetooth module is near the drivers right foot (underneath the plastic shroud for the center tunnel). Removed (disconnected) a 2012 and a 2016 one that plagued us greatly.
It's cold in toronto Canada right now about - 15 Celsius. My car battery died on me 2 times and had to call CAA to boost it . The battery was drained overnight and couldn't start and the guy told me it has to be a wiring problem. Hopefully this video helps me and solves the problem and I'll get back to you guys . Cross fingers

Thanks for the video, just now I follow your video because my 2005 Acura MDX was draining its battery like every other day when I didn't drive it. When I pull the 4 big screw out and unplugged the green plug for the bluetooth I notice the black box was warm/hot to the touch. But my car battery was already dead. So I'm hoping this helps. Will update in a couple days too see if there is any more drain to my battery 😀

Had the Bluetooth disconnected and put back together in 10 minutes :-) Question though, the Handsfree Link still says Bluetooth rebooting, which is what I believe to be the issue in the first place (battery drain). Since the bluetooth module is now disconnected should I assume that the bluetooth rebooting won't be and issue and continue to drain the car battery since the bluetooth module is now disconnected? 07 Acura TL
The issue is that when the Bluetooth is connected, even after the car is off, the Bluetooth keeps searching for a phone. Once disconnected nothing will stay on
I took it to the dealer and they checked using the device, said my system is shorting out, and I kept telling them it’s the Bluetooth device and they wouldn’t listen. I am familiar with this issue. They said it’s actually more than that, I am going to remove it and see if it fixes the issue. I’ve been holding out on doing this for a long time.
I unplug something there now my lights dont work and garage door opener and still have battery drain issue. What seem to help is to turn off ur AC. I dont know why but it helped my issue. Now the trick is not to forget to hit the off button when i leave the car for couple days. But if i drive every day battery dosen't drain completely.

It seems like there are different levels of the issue. My TL was always bad with batteries as they usually lasted around 2 years. Then it got much worse as it will kill a new battery in a few months.
I was having the same issue with our 2011 TSX. Come to find out it was the master window switch. Hope this helps someone out there. It was frustrating.

Same here. Spent 150 on a new battery and was about to trade it in till I saw your video. Even my local trustworthy mechanic could not figure out the slow 50milliamp bleed!
when this issue occurs sometimes it damages your battery cells or the alternator, so you fixed the problem but the problem left damages. try checking your battery and also your alternator

Replace AC Relay will remain activated when car is off and drains battery. Located in fuse box on the right side of the engine bay. snowflake symbol (Genuine Honda 39794-SDA-A03).
